The manager Anthony is a creep. He talks about women's breasts in front of customers, I definitely dont want to hear that. Not sure how someone can be a manager at a family restaurant and have no couth. Also he can't keep the bar stocked. For weeks they only had half the drafts and at one point no draft beer at all for the entire weekend!

This restaurant has definitely lost my business due to a manager who does not know how to manage and handle customers and the same manager who caters to one person vs. a family. Watching the UNC game last weekend and so was the ENTIRE restaurant and ALL OF A SUDDEN the channel is being changed with 12 minutes left in the game. No notice, not excused me I need to turn the channel, nothing!! The one patron in the ENTIRE bar got the tv changed, pissing off many people, but the manager did not care, but instead proceeded to fuss at me because I simply asked why was the channel changed? It was my fault for asking I guess at the wrong time while he was “busy.” I was told to turn around and watch the tv behind me on the wall after I had been there 2 hours watching the UNC game in front of me It’s sad that one guy takes precedent over a family! Will find a better place to watch the games and take my family where we matter and not a disrespectful, drunk dude.

We ate here twice, right down from where we were staying for our visit. Both times were excellent. Food was great and service was on point. Special shoutout to Brianna who was very personable and super helpful with local recommendations. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area!

Second time we've been here. First time was poor service but food was fine. The second time we decided to stop in and catch a football game, as it is very close to our home and thought we would try something different for football season. Asked the young host if we could watch a game we wanted to see, as there was only 1 table of two young ladies not watching either of the two tvs in that entire portion of the restaurant. Not even one other table sitting anywhere in that area. He stated he would see if they could change it. He must have gotten busy, as not only did he forget to ask, but he forgot to come back with a drink menu, and forgot to tell our waitress we were even there and never returned. We asked the waitress when she came by and she went back to check with her management. She came back and told us that the tv's were all spoken for and could not be changed. We figured since there wasn't even 1 other table watching anything that perhaps they could accommodate but was not the case. We were fine with that, as rules are rules. We figured we would eat our lunch and go elsewhere to catch second half of game. However, while we finished our lunch, a family of four came in and asked which game we were watching. They wanted to change the channel to watch a different game. I told them what we were told by management and they apparently complained to the right person. 5-10 minutes later someone changes the sh*t game I'm in the middle of watching to another one at the family's request. At that point, we were already planning on leaving so no point in complaining to whoever it is back there that sends their wait staff out to tell customers one thing, and then undermines their staff by folding like a cheap lawn chair when they have to talk to the people directly (not a good look management). The wait staff was very apologetic and we had no issue with her or her service. All we really expected is some consistency in policy. When you're told something can't be done, it's not a good look when someone sits next to you and they make the same request and you take care of them...Also, as others have stated, not a fan of the "convenience fee" that they add on to the bill for the pleasure of you stopping into their establishment. If I'm going to spend $70 on couple of sandwiches and couple of beers, it would be nice if I could watch one of the 50 tvs inside the place...No plans on ever returning and will not recommend them to anyone.

Great neighborhood establishment. I came here from out of town on a beach vacation. The location gives me a neighborhood / clubhouse type of feeling. Lots of locals friendly locals here, and the service at the bar was great. Food is far better than I was expecting, and it came out quickly. You wish most places would be like this and this was the standard statewide. I’d say this particular restaurant is a hidden gem. Thank you for a great evening and dinner.

Nice ambience. Delicious meal. Kind people. And pleasant bartender. I went to see a friend perform music. I stayed and enjoyed conversation with locals and a steak and shrimp meal.

So this place tries to sneak in a 4% “convenience fee”, when questioned the bartender, and I use that term loosely as she had no clue how to make a drink, decides that we should be banned because of questioning the charges, then tries to call the cops and cause more problems. This place is a joke, horrible food and drinks, it’s just a place for the local drunks. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I really liked the vibe of the place and the waitresses seemed cool and honest. To be a bar I thought they would have more food options. I got the pizza special and for what I paid it was pretty good pizza. I LOVED their ranch though. Superior ranch if ya like it runny! Good first restaurant if ya get here on vacation and wanna look like crap at a restaurant because you feel gross from driving all day!

Standard bar faire. Nothing super memorable about this experience. It's definitely a neighborhood bar, and I felt like an outsider.

Worst service I've had in almost my entire life. My wife and our 4 kids decided to try something we haven't before. The only thing we enjoyed were the nachos. If I could give half a star I would. The hostess and bar tender that greeted us gave us more attention then our server. Our server ignored us almost the entire time, as well as the other table he was supposed to be taking care of. My wife and I ordered drinks from the bar. Mine was delivered but hers was not. It wasn't until we received our food and I reminded him she ordered a drink that he finally went and got it for her. I was a server/bartender/manager for restaurants for 12 years and I'm appalled at the customer service of this restaurant. We were charged a convenience fee that we were never told about because we were using a card instead of cash. The website stated that kids under 12 ate free with a qualifying adult meal and they charged me for all of the kids meals. I asked to speak to a manager and he came over to tell me that all restaurants are charging convenience fees now and that they have changed their menu so the website is incorrect and they no longer give free kids meals. Begrudgingly he took two of my four kids meals off and told me that he needed to speak to the people that took care of his website to make sure that they changed it so this wouldn't happen again. Had I known about any of the fees or changes I would have accepted the policies knowingly and wouldn't have been upset or frustrated about the situation. Needless to say I will never be going back to Bar Masonboro.
