I had a fantastic experience at El Cerro Grande during a family trip to the beach. Despite some mixed reviews, I found the food to be excellent and the customer service was good. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience. I practically demolished my plate! Would definitely recommend giving them a try.
What can I say about El Cerro Grande other than it's simply the best spot for scrumptious food and unforgettable family moments! My first rendezvous with this gem was back in sixth grade, on a Spanish class outing at a location that no longer graces Harris Teeter on Wrightsville Avenue, way back in the mid-90s. Since that fateful visit 30 years ago, I've been absolutely hooked! El Cerro Grande will always hold a special place in my heart, not just for its mouthwatering dishes, but for the amazing times I shared with my family during middle and high school—we practically made it a tradition to visit once a week during those years!And now, I'm thrilled to say that I continue the tradition with my own young family. They love El Cerro Grande just as much as I do! Even though my father passed away years ago, whenever my brother is in town, we make it a point to meet up with our mother and indulge in the comforting delights this restaurant has to offer.El Cerro Grande isn't just a restaurant; it's a cherished part of our family's story, a place where we come together to celebrate life and create lasting memories. Food is always great. I’m vegetarian and they have a good variety of options. Ronaldo was super friendly and makes the best margaritas I have had in a long time!

Our food was delicious! I ordered the 2 item combination meal with one tamale and one enchilada served with beans and rice. They give you chips and salsa, and while the salsa isn’t spicy at all, it is still flavorful. It definitely satisfied my Mexican food craving and I’d come again.

This restaurant has seen better days! Went here today with my family. My children's chicken and happy face fry kids meals were over cooked. The chicken was hard and the fries were too crunchy. My quesadillas were okay. My husband ordered a burrito entrée and that was not served with rice and beans. Most dinner entrees are served with sides. The servers were very nice, and the restaurant looks like they did some updating on the decor.
