I have eaten there before and the experience is always exceptional. Friday night and a full house (yeah)! No other Mexican restaurant like this in Wilmington. I had family with me from Raleigh and they are foodies so I picked El Mariscal for something they might not have been to in Raleigh. I was right. BRIAN was our waiter and he was excellent. Everything was fresh and straight from the grill or oven. Careful, the temperature will be hot when you are served. Wonderful margarita, especially the skinny. The medium size is huge. Three adult entree’s, three margaritas, chips and guacamole, plus tip for $100. (By the way the salsa and guacamole was perfect, not overly spicy but plenty of hot sauce condiments for those with a taste for heat). We had the Mojarra al Gusto, (Whole fish Tilapia) three different styles, which came with a very nice rice side and small fresh salad, and a piece of Texas style garlic toast. It was fantastic. Next time I’m getting the octopus for sure. Desert looked inviting but no room after that dinner.We all highly recommendAfter 6:30 you should probably make a reservation, on Friday anyway.Kid-friendliness: Adult menu with kid items. Great family place as you will see when you go.

I'd say it's the best mexican restaurant in the US. You guys are lucky to have it in NC. I was pleased to find the place in my 4th of July trip from Washington D.C. The tostadas of octopus and shrimp are amazing. The service was also great. I'd say the food tastes better than in actual Mexico, I'm born and raised there. Life changing experience really.

My boyfriend and I love this place. We eat here often. They have multiple selections of ceviche and each one are phenomenal. The atmosphere is really nice and so is the restaurant. Very very good food for a great price.
Way too expensive and will not be back. The added $25 tip when the waitress was speaking behind our back about us ordering certain food. The horchata was watered down and the sweet tea was not sweet at all. Will not be back.

Would not recommend coming here. The food is expensive and doesn’t taste good, not at all authentic. The drinks also do not taste good like the sweet tea tasted like lemons and the horchata tasted like straight up water. The staff were rude and you could tell they didn’t like when we asked them for things as they made faces at us and with that they made us pay a gratuity tip for such poor service of $25????!!! Ridiculous would NOT recommend.
This place was great! A friend texted us to meet for dinner. We arrived and the parking lot was empty. This got me worried but to my surprise it was a blessing. My friend Robert and his lady Márcia picked this place for us to meet that night.When we went in Pascual knew the waitress from another establishment we go to and she remembered him.The food was presented very well and the taste was even better.If you like Mexican food or just want to try it, this is the place.If I could have went higher then the 5 stars I would have.The food was Great!The service was Great!The price was fair.We will definitely be going here many more times. Their score was over 97% and it shows just walking into the place makes you feel comfortable, it's that clean.To the owners pat your people on the back this place is great and clean.

It is the first time that we visited this restaurant and the truth is that the food is delicious. My husband ordered a Tampico octopus and it was delicious. I ordered a ceviche and it was also delicious. The waitress who served us was very friendly. 100% recommended. I forgot to mention that we ordered a quesadilla for my one year old boy and it was also delicious he enjoyed it a lot
