This has always been my ideal place of choice for Chinese food for numerous years. The food is delicious and the owners are so nice. The service is exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring that every customer is greeted with a smile. The looks of the place is not the nicest but don't let it fool you. I had the sweet and sour chicken and the egg drop soup and it was so good. The service is quick and they are nice. I would recommend getting you food to go just because there is no seating and it's not very appealing visually. But the food and service is definitely worth it. Not to mention I got 1 pint of sweet and sour chicken with rice and the soup all for $10.50!!

I had a craving for some Chinese food. My stomach was already hurting so I thought "Why not order something that I never get to eat cause it's hurts my stomach". I ordered the meat wontons, hunan chicken lunch special, hot and sour soup, and a wonton soup. This was supposed to be half for lunch and half for dinner. The human chicken was drenched in sauce. The meat/veggie ratio was very sparse. I would not have ordered this again. I guess I prefer Szechuan over Hunan style The hot and sour soup was very spicy and was full of egg. That is something different to me. The crispy noodles were good. The meat wontons were done well but just barely had any meat in them. I did not get a chance to try the wonton soup. Bad choice of ordering when already in pain. Which was my own fault.

Not good! Very disappointing! Did research to see who had good rating. I’m sorry, but I have no clue on why this place has a 4 star. It does not take like authentic/real Chinese food. They have the nasty yellow rice w no flavor. Fried rice is supposed to have onions and such. The sesame chicken is hard and stringy. I started choking on it and then threw it out. The sauce does not have enough honey/sweetness to it. The lunch vegetable …ewww. The sauce does not taste like a normal brown sauce. So blah and just taste badI do not like to complain but, I’ve been wanting Chinese for awhile now. And, I can’t even eat it. Wasted money. And I even drove alittle further to go thereSo, I drove to Mcds to get a fry ?To be honest … one of the worst Chinese places I ever been too???

Classic take out probably the best in Wilmington. I always get General Tso chicken with broccoli and it’s always good. Super fast and courteous service, big portions too!
Hands down, this is the best Chinese take out food in the area! The General Tso dinner combo has never disappointed. The chicken is real, perfect flavor and cooked just right, the rice is moist and flavorful, broccoli is cooked to perfection. This is the go to take out spot.

My greasy shrimp Egg Foo Young came with some yellow colored greasy rice the restaurant calls fried rice. The public restroom was disgusting. There was no toilet paper, and no hot water.

This food got me sick. Extreme stomach pain and nausea. Within hours of eating it I called up there to let the restaurant know and instead of offering me a refund she just said they’ve never had a problem before and they’ve been selling it for years.

I love this place. I've tried others in Wilmington and they just don't compare. I'll go out of my way to come here. The food is always hot, fresh, and consistent. The fried chicken wings, fried rice, and the house special lo mein (the one with everything) are delicious. In fact, I've never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered, and the portions are very generous. Kudos to the lovely lady who owns it. She's always been very friendly and is super efficient. I can't say enough good things about The Golden Dragon.
