This has been one of my favorite bbq restaurants in North Carolina, and I have been eating NC bbq for almost 60 years. However, I recently ate here, and apparently they have made what I consider a massive change. Instead of chopping their bbq, it was shredded, and this totally changed the taste. The Q tasted as if it had been boiled in water. I came back home to South Carolina and pulled out a container of frozen Q from Jackson's from when they were chopping it. I warmed it and it was soooooo much better than their change to shredded Q. I'm not going to change my star ratings, though, in hopes that they will change back to the MUCH better chopped product.

Excellent local, Eastern NC barbecue. Price good. Service is good. Now can eat a table with wait staff. Chicken & pastry, pork chops now daily available. Now open to 8pm.Wheelchair accessibility: Some assistance needed as doors aren't automated. There are ramps, and tables are wheelchair-friendly.

I know good Southern food and this is it! Best BBQ in town! The collards are amazing! Always happy with the food and the price! Early bird specials during the week before 5! Chicken and pastry...fried chicken...all good! I'm always happy and satisfied when I eat here! The sweet tea washes it down just right! Clean atmosphere, friendly staff and a selection of homemade desserts! I recommend the banana pudding!
Food was terrible. Ordered two pork chops and only got one. Ribs were boiled, fatty and greasy. Collard greens were sweet. Ugh! No BBQ flavor. Would not recommend at all.

The food for the most part is good. I love the BBQ sandwich, fried chicken, fried fish,fried pork chop, mac n cheese, fried okra, fries and sweet tea. There portion sizes are great for the price. The customer service is always good even when I call my order in during a busy time.However the hushpuppies are not good. They are greasy and cold( I'm eating them at the Wilshire and kerr light)I have tried them on 3 different occasions thinking I got a bad batch. ?? Overall a great place to eat.Ps they got the good ice!!
