Went here because I remember it being good when I used to live in Wilmington. I remembered wrong. The ambiance is about the only redeeming quality here now. It's a throwback to drive-in restaurants where you drive up, park, order, & eat in your car.The 3 of us ordered cheeseburgers, fries, & a drink. The drink was the only thing to arrive quickly. Everything else took about an hour to arrive. The burgers were okay. Cooked nicely, but nothing really stands out about it. Fries are fries. We barely saw our server.Honestly, unless you have PLENTY of time to kill, you're better off going elsewhere.

Be prepared to wait over an hour for 2 of the tiniest burgers you can find. Even when they’re not that busy. Also much of their food thats not burgers or hot dogs is borderline inedible. Go to frontier, right down the road, save your time and money. Have eaten at merrits for years, ashame to see it go so

I had two cheeseburgers and fries. 1/4 lb of beef, dressed with mustard, slaw, and chili. This burger wasn't big or bulky. The cheese was melted, nice and creamy.
