I was between dishes, and the server highly recommended the duck. I ordered it medium/medium rare. The duck came out well done and my entire dish was cold. The food is subpar, especially for the price. All the build up with the radio advertisements was a severe disappointment. The only reason I didn’t give a 1 star review was because the views at the restaurant were incredible.

Not impressed. While highlighted in magazines this place leaves something to be desired. Maybe it's just us, but the oysters fell short. Fishy and accompanied by little baby crabs?! And dirty. Just disappointing for a place right up against the river. While the drinks were good, we can't get over the oyster presentation. And when we alerted the waitress to the issue, all she said was thanks for letting her know. No apology, no nothing. Pick and choose where ya go in Wilmington. just not a place for us.

They actually have a great menu and the location on the Riverwalk is beautiful. My one complaint is that they don't allow dogs (non-service animals) on the outdoor patio. They'd get a lot more business if they did. George's and Anne Bonny's both allow dogs. Free parking is available, but can fill up quickly.

Food was good, prices are definitely water front,, Not once asked for refills on tea but I'm sure that would be extra, but overall a good dinner,

We called earlier in the day to request reservations at the Pilot House and were told reservations were not accepted for Friday night, however if we arrived about 5:30 pm which was the time we had requested, we should not have an issue getting a table. Once we arrived, we were happy to see multiple free tables in the main dining room with nice views of the waterfront, however we were only offered a high top table at the bar, or a table in the corner of the restaurant with no view. The rude hostess told us the other tables were reserved even though when we called earlier that day, we were told no reservations were accepted on Friday night. We can only assume we did not meet the hostesses expectation of what an acceptable party should look like. We went to another adjacent restaurant and had a very pleasant dinner on the waterfront with no issues.

First I will start with we called while standing out side to see if there was a wait. We were told no so we went in and the host told us we had a 20 minute wait. After the 20 minutes were up went to check and the manager had he seat us. The older woman who waited on us was a bit rude and rolled her eyes a few times over general questions. When the food came it was cold. Very flavorful but cold. Sent the calamari back it was to gummy. Overall it is a nice place and I would try it again.

Place was amazing the atmosphere and quality was so great! I recommend the burgers, crab sandwiches, and the salads. They have great views and service. Definitely one of the best water front restaurants I've been too. You can sit outside or inside.

We came here for a birthday on 03/24. The server was excellent. We had a large party and She was on top of it. The food was phenomenal. We started with the crab dip and bisque. We tried the ribeye, a variety of seafood, and the porkchop. All of it was excellent bur the pork chop might have been the best I've ever had anywhere. To top it all off, there is a great view of the river and the sunset. Even though its higher priced, I would definitely eat here again!

Worst experience we ever had! I have been going to this restaurant for 25 years. we had dinner tonight 3-24 24 and the manager let 20 kids run around the restaurant like it was Chuckey Cheese kids party. My grouper special was the worst dinner that was sent back to the kitchen because it was not blackened and it looked like some one took a few bites out of it before it was served to me. I was in tears and left without eating. Complete disappointment and will never go back.

Walked around wilmington with the girls and found a cute outdoor patio to sit and get drinks at! All of the drinks were very good. We also got the spinach dip which was delicious! It was nice sitting outside, on the water, with lots of planes flying over us. Our waiter was nice as well.

Laken was wonderful. Get the blackened grouper. Best I've ever had.

I have dined at Pilot House multiple times over the last 2 years. It is one of my favorite spots for food and beverages since moving to Wilmington. The hot crab dip they serve has been hard to beat any time I have tried other establishments take on it.I have tried various things from the sandwiches to the fried seafood basket, to the salad. All taste great and fresh. My only recent disappointment is that they charge $2.25 for soda water/club soda (in a glass, not a Pellegrino bottle or anything). I typically only drink water and have started not ordering tap water from restaurants and alternatively asking for a glass of soda water/club soda, and *most* establishments offer it free of charge; unless you’re explicitly asking for a Pellegrino bottle or something.Like I said, that has only been a recent occurrence and won’t keep me away, but it was just a double take.
