The absolute best sandwiches in Wilmington. Their homemade sundried tomato bread and chips are amazing...with the buffalo ranch OMG so good. I'm so sad they have been temporarily closed due to COVID restrictions. I hope they open up soon!!!

The food is always delish. The restaurant is small, but worth a trip, even for take out! Family friendly. They would do very well if they moved to a better, newer building. I always get a cold cut, such as turkey, ham or chicken. Delish!

This is a short review because when I tried the signature Beef on Weck sandwich after learning about the place I was amazed. It was the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had, from Wilmington to LA and Chicago and in between. I tried the creamy horseradish sauce, but realized that the bun with caraway seeds and salt, the mound of fresh, thin sliced roast beef and the fresh, hot juice were all I needed. The potato salad was excellent to go along with it, heavy on the mayo, but with enough subtle other seasonings to make it great on its own. But the Beef on Weck by itself was outstanding, my new standard of comparison for a hot deli sandwich.

surprisingly good, It was very busy the even serve beer the girl that took my order even double checked to make sure my order was right. Well done 5 Stars. Maybe time for a larger updated establishment . still I was very pleased.

Packed like usual on a Saturday afternoon, but always worth the wait in line. My order never changes, the Cubano on sundried tomato bread, and it's amazing every time. The potato salad has a little more mayonnaise than I prefer, but still tasty. This sammy is so packed, I always get to enjoy the other half later on.
South College Deli is a local gem! All of their sandwiches are phenomenal and I highly recommend for a quick lunch. It can get a little crowded during the middle of the day, but the line tends to move pretty fast!

If you make almost everything in house you are eligible for 5 stars. Then add in great prompt, service and unusual options (beef on weck -- even though I am not a fan). Fresh made bread, fresh made sides, and clean updated seating area? I guess that is why there was a line to order on a Sunday during low season and before college was in session. Do it right, do it fresh, and we will eat it!

Heard the roar and had to try. First off, like most good restaurants if you are in a rush go somewhere else. Great food requires a bit more time. I went at noon on Saturday and the place was busy, I love to take everything in with people watching and how the business operates. This place gave you that nostalgic old school deli feel and did not disappoint. I ordered the Beef on Weck, potato salad, chips, cole slaw and a cookie. Everything was delicious. It was so good I got it “to go”and ate everything there. The Beef on Weck was recommended by a few of my co workers. Tasty everything style bun, tender roast beef, au jus and creamy horseradish. Great homemade chips, cole slaw and potato salad. Cookie was tremendous as well. If the line was not as long I would have purchased the same order “to go” and again ate it there. Instead I will probably just go again tomorrow for lunch! See ya there!
