The naming on this establishment seems to be up for debate. The sign says Coastal Cupcakes but the receipt says Sweets Bakery. Either way, they've got some unique items, like the crocake, a cupcake made from croissant mix. Pretty cool. They also had a really good strawberry rhubarb mini pie.

Called about an hour before closing to grab my step dad cupcakes for his birthday dinner! Lady who helped me was sweet and extremely helpful even throwing in a candle and a cute mini cupcake as well as my order!! Will def be coming here for all my dessert needs!!

Simply delicious. A sweet lovers paradise. You can not go wrong with any of the cupcakes you choose and their cream cheese frosting is the best I've had. If your in Wilmington, stop by for a treat.

All of the cupcakes we've had from here has been excellent. The cream cheese icing is devine and worth making a trip downtown for. I would love it if they'd have another location closer to Monkey Junction. I Would also like to see more offerings for walk in customers. Like Gigi's has seasonal, cute decorated cupcakes.

So this is what took the place of Coastal Cupcakes--the teal canopy above it is still there though so don't be fooled. When my friend and I walked in the woman behind the case said hello then looked right back down at her phone. My friend and I were asking each other questions about the desserts at an audible volume yet the woman did not once look up from her phone to ask if we needed help. A couple other people walked in at this time and she immediately served them. The cases were full of description cards with no matching dessert behind them, and there were things written on the menu that were not in the cases. They did have about five different cupcake flavors, two cookie flavors, as well as a couple other packaged desserts. I asked the woman to describe one of the cookies to me and she did, then I opted for a salted chocolate chunk which was very good. I was immediately turned off by the staff member being on her phone and not offering to help us when we arrived for our first time there so for that reason I'm not compelled to return.
The seasonal cupcakes here are delicious, and very creative. My dog loves their dog treats too, they have something just about everyone can enjoy.

One of the most delicious cupcakes I've ever eaten. The key lime cupcake was light, and citrusy and tasted like summer. The vanilla cupcake was dense and tasty! We'll be back!

Walked in, the store front was unappealing and somewhat dirty. I got the coffee Heath bar cupcake. It has a great flavor. But the cupcake feel apart when I was taking off the liner. Made it very difficult to eat. I did not have a very pleasant experience with coastal cupcakes

Stopped in here during a quick trip to Wilmington, and got a really delicious peanut butter and chocolate cupcake. With a bottled water, my bill didn't reach the $5 limit for using my credit card so I *had* to also get a little crueller doughnut thing ("crocake") they also sell. Definitely not complaining--they were both delicious! Highly recommended. Parking is paid street parking only and there's no place to eat inside.

We tried their Friday cupcakes, pink lemonade and chocolate stout, and they were fantastic! Great for a quick treat and break from the sun. Definitely coming back again when we're in the area!
