Everytime I come to visit my Mom and family in Wilmington (which is a few times per month), I HAVE TO stop and eat here. Im totally obsessed with their classic chicken salad croissant. It's absolutely the best chicken salad I've ever eaten in my life. I remember staying with my Mom for a few days after recovering from surgery and wanting to eat this darn near every day. As a matter of fact, once I was released from the outpatient surgical center and the anesthesia hadn't completely worn off yet, I was unconsciously begging to eat here haha. Being the best Mom ever, after she put me into bed at her house, she ran over to Tempations and got me a 1/2 lb of chicken salad to go (yes, they even sell their famous chicken salad by the 1/2 lb or lb). Once I fully came to and all the anesthesia had worn off, she brought me some lunch. I was instantly healed once I found out that my lunch consisted of Temptations chicken salad! Thanks Mom and thanks Tempations. Anyway, everything on their menu is so good. I also like their shrimp salad. Their sides are good also, especially their French onion soup. Even though they have many things on their menu to choose from to eat, I always go back to 'ole faithful...the classic chicken salad, and it's hard for me to stray too far from that whenever I come to Tempations. My Mom changes her order around each time we go so I've tasted pretty much everything on their menu thanks to Mom giving me a bite of her order to try. Everything is so fresh and good so anyone who comes here will not be disappointed. I look forward to coming here each time I visit Mom and/or family in Wilmington. It's a hidden gem that locals know all about. So, if you're coming here from out of town, check this little cafe out. I promise that you will fall in love with this place!

This was my first visit to Temptations Gourmet Cafe but it is unlikely to be my last. The cafe is fairly simple and I found the tables too close together for easy conversation. Both service and food were good. I chose a Petite Asian Chicken Wrap that was quite fresh and delicious. The wrap was on a whole wheat wrap, with plenty of chicken, crispy noodles, peanut sauce, carrots, red pepper and greens. The smaller size was generous as the entree also includes a side. (There were several side options). My side was a tomato-basil soup that was creamy and tasted fresh. I ordered hot tea, and was happy to find a nice brand being served. It would be nice if the tea came with a small pot of hot water, though the waitress did come by and bring more. Creamer in disposable single servings - would be much nicer served with a proper creamer, and more environmentally friendly as well. There is a small gourmet shop as well as a case of delectable looking chocolates.

My wife had dined here before and wanted me to enjoy her experience. She had soup and a small salad. I opted for the Cranberry Goat Cheese Entrée Salad. It was so large it barely fit on the plate. That’s not a complaint. It’s a compliment! It was delicious. We both enjoyed this brunch and will definitely return.

Food was GREAT, as always, and the staff was very nice. We arrived at 5:30 and they close at 6, so I know they were probably ready to go home, but they were pleasant just the same. Our food arrived quickly, so we had time to search for the Elf on the Shelf AND got our birthday candy too!!! Everyone should eat there at least once...

Prices high for lunch. Remodeled yet lost its charm. Those plastic chairs, so uncomfortable! Salad was fresh but chicken salad portion was too small. Soup was lukewarm. Not great anymore!

Been going to Temptations for over 20 years and it always has, and still remains, my favorite restaurant in town. Their "Temptations Chicken Salad" is the best. I have never had anything on the menu that wasn't delicious and have never had a negative experience.
