Excellent service. Was in a hurry with only a short break from work. Isabella helped me with the menu and what to order for a quick turnaround time. I was in and out in record time and had a great meal. Looking forward to bringing the whole family here when I can.BTW, I tried the place next door first but the person told me they had no idea how long it would take and that they could not guarantee anything. I left and went to Tidewater.Too bad the first place didn't have Isabella. She was THE reason I tried Tidewater.

It makes me really sad to post this review. I called in for a to go order based on the menu off the website. I ordered the Family Platter, French Fries, and large Caesar Salad. They said the food would be ready in 20 minutes but it was more like 30 minutes. No big deal. I paid and picked up the food and headed home. Upon opening the food I noticed that there was no 1lb of snow crab legs so I called Tidewater. A girl answered the phone and I told her I was just at the restaurant a bit ago to pick up an order and my Family Platter is missing snow crab legs. She asked if I still wanted them, I said yes. She said okay, they will be ready in 5-10 minutes. So I get back into my car to go back to Tidewater. Upon reaching the parking lot I get a call from Tidewater and a man is on the phone. He tells me that the menu has recently changed and the Family Platter no longer has snow crab legs. I am confused but accepts explanation then hangs up. I then go back on the website to see if I read wrong. The website clearly has the menu and snow crab legs is apart of the Family Platter. I call back and a guy answers. I explain to him that I do not think it is fair that I ordered based on a not updated menu. He said something about the menu changing 4 months ago and there's been a deduction in price for that menu item. If the menu has changed then it needs to be updated on all their platforms. It was also a lie that there was a reduction in price. The cost was $75 with crab legs and $75 without crab legs.

Undoubtedly the best seafood spot b/w Wilmington and Hampstead. Woke up craving gumbo and fried okra. Unreal. Open one near WB?

My husband and I had a fun date night here! The staff was very efficient and professional. The young lady who served us was lovely, with just the right amount of attentiveness. We definitely recommend saving room for dessert-- we both agreed that the key lime pie is the way to go for your first visit! I also ordered the lemon crème brûlée which was awesome. The hushpuppies were delicious. The catfish was decent but could have been a little more flavorful. My husband liked the fried flounder but wished it was a bit bigger. And we both loved their fried shrimp. Overall we enjoyed our Sunday evening.

Came in a whim to see if they were any good. It's in a strip mall and not a.large place but it was packed (always a good sign) We ordered some fresh oysters that were excellent. Then we each got the individual steam pot. It was filled with 1/2 pound of big shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob and smoked sausage. It was soooo good. We will definitely return

My partner and I came to Wilmington from Maine for a short stay and happened upon Tidewater Oyster Bar on our next-to-last night in town. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go again for our last night in town, and we're so glad we did. Outstanding, friendly service both nights from a young, hardworking crew. Beautiful fresh oysters, delicious Oysters Rockefeller, out of this world gumbo, crispy sweet hush puppies, blackened catfish, fried shrimp, and "the big catch" were all flawless. We walked away happy and full both nights, and even bought some swag to remember this wonderful gem. HIGHLY recommended!

Some days are better than others. Last couple of times the rue for the gumbo was burnt. Recently my wife's catfish was soft and squishy. My crab legs were excellent however.
