Was charged $60 for a steak that was mostly gristle. When I told our waitress, she apologized and gave us our check. Super disappointed. Won't be returning.

The service was very nice with friendly staff. I was very disappointed with my food. I ordered a mahi mahi with roasted sweet potato & broccoli. I requested the cook on my dish to be medium but it was overcooked & the sweet potato must have been drenched with sugar. The broccoli was the best thing on the dish. We did get calamari for appetizers & the spicy marinara was delicious. My son's cap steak was overcooked when he asked for medium ruining the expensive cut to almost inedible. The vegetables accompanying it was sweet! My husband's chicken with garlic mashed potato & French beans was good. He ordered dessert too! Fried banana cheesecake with vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. Too sweet he thought. The after dinner mint was really nice! The outside space is nice with fans & heating.

The service was good, however, the food did not stand up to its local reputation. My cheese raviolis were actually "drowning" in a quite flavorless sauce you had to dig into to find the limp tasteless raviolis. My daughter's salmon was almost raw and her maple "glazed" sweet potatoes were maple flavored mush. My grandson had their most expensive steak, which was good. The Brussel sprouts were burned and the sweet potatoes were small pieces of white potatoes. All in all not a good experience but a very expensive one.

I dined alone, so I had time to really take in the atmosphere. The dining room I was in seemed dull and claustrophobic. No real zeal to entertain the eye. I was seated at a 2 top shoved along the back wall. They had 2 tops that had booth seat facing the room. Having been sat at one of those would have helped with the closed in feeling. The service was impeccable. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this place is "hoity-toity" or pretentious. The food struggled with portion abundance. I would have been thrilled to have about 1/3 less brussel sprouts. Which are Effing PHENOMENAL! I ate about 3 too many, which pushed my taste buds beyond the relm of perfection and into "well, now, that's just oversalted." Difficult to not eat every morsel. I had to leave a few... sadly.Overall, the food isn't pretty, but it tastes exceptional.

First time here. Food was very good, the before dinner bread was as awesome as bread can be. And the waitress top notch. My only complaint is that for the price level of the menu, the atmosphere and surroundings were blah (grey and black accents) , they should have spent some money on an interior designer to match the price points they are asking.

1000/10 would recommend! We were in Rocky Mount looking for somewhere to have date night and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem (in Wilson). Everything was great from the service, drinks and food, down to the music. We sat outside in their enclosed patio with heaters. It was a nice respite from the busyness inside. The baked brie with jam was a great starter! (We took one to go!) Jack's Old Fashioned and the Prickly Pear Margarita were very good. I got the Short Rib, and my date got the salmon. Both were very delicious. I could eat the Brussel sprouts every day. Our waiter Jeremy even talked us into dessert although we had to take it with us. Jeremy was awesome & super helpful! He was happy to move the heater nearer to us and take pics for us without us asking. All of the wait staff were outstanding. We were constantly checked on throughout our dining experience there. You can tell from the diversity of the guests and how packed it was that the food is really good and the restaurant is incredible.Best dining experience I've had in a while. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jack's, and Jeremy!

Chef Duji is a doozie at Jack's Restaurant in Wilson, NC. After a few art exhibits and receptions in Wilson, we decided to dine as opposed to just eating. The server, Chelsea, was engaging, polite and totally adept at pointing her customers into making the right choice for apps and entrees.Although the restaurant lacks the total ambience a local eatery might offer, it is exceptionally clean, neat and comfortable.Wisely, we chose the shrimp and grits, and Chef Duji went two notches up on any New Orleans restaurant! Superb! And, though a tad sparce, the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer were delectable. It's absolutely a dining delight to find such a restaurant in Wilson. I urge you to try it. Chef Duji and the staff will not disappoint you.

Holy cow, what a hidden gem! We were able to make a reservation on line with no issues and were seated right away. Reservation recommended because at 5:15 when we pulled into the parking lot it was filling up fast after opening at 5. Nice sized space with plenty of seating, full bar and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was some of the most flavorful we've had (and we try apt of different places) and cooked perfectly on all fronts. Cass, our server, was on point the entire time, answered our questions and was very attentive as we finished items or needed refills. This was our first time here but will not be our last! .

Make reservations! We did not and sat on the patio. Hostess had a nasty attitude but another one was willing to seat us outside. Ribs were ok, scallops were over seasoned but tender. Risotto was more like rice pudding. But our waitress was excellent.
