WOW! SO GOOD. We had heard about this place for a while and just never made an effort to go. We are kicking ourselves now. The seafood is almost on par with 42nd Street in Raleigh , a llittle heavier on the fry but I like that sometimes. We had Grouper fingers, Bang Bang shrimp ( it is actually Thai Chile in flavor) and the best tasting Outer Banks oysters ever! We are looking forward to our return. There is only seating for about 18 people but they mostly do take out.

I had spots, okra, and coleslaw. Everything was freshly cooked. The portions were satisfying. And it all tasted delicious!!!!! I eat meat OCCASIONALLY, but I eat seafood probably a couple times a month, so I will be back. This is the only place I'm aware of that has spots, so I'll definitely be back.

Had baby flounder plate for lunch one Friday. It was hot, fresh & amazing. Ordered the same plate Friday evening for dinner. Very disappointed. The entire plate was a hot mess!

Best seafood joint around! The food is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. It's small but quaint. I've been to finer restaurants but the food was not nearly as good. If ever you're in Wilson please stop by, you won't be sorry!

I don't understand the hype of this place. Major let down! Finally tried it after wanting to go there for months. This is just fried frozen seafood that is way overcooked. I got the two item combo of bang bang Shrimp, flounder, green beans, and fries. The shrimp was like rubber and bang bang sauce was just what tasted like the great value brand sweet Thai chili sauce not a bang bang sauce. This is not calabash style and it's actually insulting. Fries were undercooked and were like raw potatoes. Green beans tasted straight from the can and the flounder was cooked okay just lacked and real flavor or seasoning. My husband got the grilled salmon salad and the salad was a salad of course but the salmon was way way overcooked as well. If you try this place you've been warned. I don't know if they have gone downhill or if people in this area just don't know what seafood should taste like. Id go to mayflower any day over this place. Tried to support local but this ain't it.ETA: changed star rating from two to one star after unnecessary response from owner. A simple sorry you didn't like it was the only thing called for not a smart remark such as maybe mayflower is a better fit. Exactly why some people need business management skills degrees or communications degrees. A caring owner would accept the review for what it is: a criticism and change things to make sure no one else ever felt that way. Shame really!

My family brought home takeout the other night and wow! It was delicious. Even after sitting in the container on the way home, the fish was still so good!!

Excellent customer service and good food. I liked Salty Shores because it is a small family owned business. They have eat in or take out. Their fried food is very good. Occasionally I will eat fried food but I generally order baked or broiled. Salty Shores has a variety of options. When I want a seafood meal Salty Shores is my go to spot.

Was headed to Wilson today and wanted seafood for lunch so I decided to try Salty Shores out. I highly recommend! Owner and waitress were extremely nice and the food (baby flounder & shrimp) was very good with a good lunch portion. It is a small dinning area but very nice to sit in a not so noisy place and enjoy a good lunch.
