Go to Tre Nonne across the street, it has better food and service.Every time I’ve gone to Carmine the service ranged from terrible at best to being completely ignored. I once waited 45 minutes to even have our order taken (after a 20 minute wait to even get water) so we just walked out. And it’s happened on multiple occasions. Screw this place, the food isn’t even good either.

So I ordered (called in)a large pepperoni pizza and garlic knots-$21. When I arrived and saw the sign posted on the front door that read “enter through Break-Time Billiards” I started to just leave (now I wish I had.) I got the pizza from a pool hall and that’s exactly what I got, pool hall pizza. The pizza had maybe 7 pieces of pepperoni on it and was possibly the greasiest pizza we ever had. The only pleasant part of this experience was the very friendly lady at the counter.

What. Happened. We’ve been going to Carmine’s for 15 years - back when it was Francesco’s. It’s been our favorite Italian restaurant between Winston and Greensboro. The food was fantastic. The staff amazing. That has all changed. Tonight I ordered birthday dinner for my husband not realizing Carmine’s food is not really Carmine’s food. Now, they’re serving bar food only to the patrons of Breaktime Billards and it’s BAD. On their website, they wrote about keeping their staff safe during COVID and that’s why they merged with Breaktime. But I felt far from safe when I walked into the pool hall tonight to get the food and not a single person had on a mask. People lined up at the bar, the bartender, the people walking out, the 5 men standing outside the door smoking never even budged when I walked through their smoke. I stood just inside the door with my mask on looking like a deer in headlights. The super nice lady behind the counter said someone from Carmine’s would bring the food to our car when it was ready. He did, without a mask. So, while I’m glad the Carmine’s staff is staying safe from COVID, apparently their loyal customers are on their own.

I would suggest eating elsewhere if you want a sit down dinner. They don't allow seating inside, not really a cold Italian food person; myself. Tried to stop in as I was passing through.

As NYC transplants, we are very particular about our Italian food - Carmine's has never disappointed us. The chef/owner Carmine (he's always there!) makes delicious food with really authentic flavors and the staff is always super accommodating. My favorite thing about the menu is all the options - great pizzas and pastas with tons of toppings and sauces to choose from. We have turned several of our friends into regulars!

This is the first time at Carmines since the new "collaboration" with Break Time Billards. The food was horrible! Not anything like what we have had at the original Carmines. The 5 small ravioli tasted like it was from the freezer section of the grocery store, sauce tasted burned. The salad was shredded lettuce with a couple of slices of tomato. They are also being misleading with customers and not telling them about the changes when they call in. We showed up to pick up our food and the door to Carmines was locked. We had to call again to find out we needed to go to Break Time to pick up the food. Be prepared to enter the smoke filled Billiard room to get your food. My guess is this collaboration will be short lived. Needless to say we won't be going back!

We have gone to Carmine’s for many years and are usually pleased with the food. Because of COVID we have started having dinners delivered. Our last delivery included veal piccata (well prepared) and veal parmesan (inedible).The Veal Parmesan was breaded, leathery and paper-thin. I couldn’t even tell if it was meat, couldn't cut it, let alone chew it. Hope the chef was having a bad night, because Carmne’s is usually reliable.I complained to both Carmine’s and the delivery service; the delivery service gave me a refund.

Best gluten free pizza around! My non-Gf family members also love their regular pizza and Stromboli. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and you feel like you're in someone's home. We usually order to-go but when we have dined in the wait staff was incredibly attentive and friendly.

I have been coming to Carmines for many years and have seen many names for the same place. I come from Chicago and one thing i pride myself on is pizza. I love it in just about all forms, from thin crist AKA "Pizza on a Cracker" REAL CHICAGO Deep Dish and if ypu can handle insanity Stuffed, basically most places in NC have no idea how to bake a pizza correctly and i have run into this problem at Carmines on several occasions. My order always includes "Large Cheese well done" and i get domething different most of the time. One time i opened the box there and the waitress told me "My Kids won't eAt it if it has any browned cheese ontop. Arrrgghh... sigh.... Sunday night i fire up the home oven and call in an order for a Shrimp Salad and a "Large Cheese EXTRA well done" what i received is pictured below! A TRUE MASTERPIECE AND THE BEST CARMINES PIZZA I EVER CONSUMED" Whoever made this pizza Sunday night you have a serious future in making pizzas (Seriously) please remember because right when i was about to just give up ever getting a real pizza you renewed my faith it can be done correctly in NC and you have made me a happy man! Be back Sunday This is a MASTER PIECE!!! Baked to absolute perfection I always knew Carmines had the talent and this is EXACTLY how it is done. Here in NC from Florida and came with our friends on accident after our intended restaurant was unexpectedly closed. Let me tell you....so happy we did!!! Our server: Asia (very wrong spelling I’m sure) greeted us and then proceeded to recite the specials (which was by memory) and it was that moment, I knew she would be an amazing part of the experience! 5 of us took way to long to order simply because the menu was so appetizing. We asked many questions to which she knew all the answers and gave us her recommendations which we took! The food was above our expectations and the portions beyond generous! Every single thing is made from scratch and can be revised to suit YOU! We highly recommend this establishment! You will not be disappointed
