I think I have passed this restaurant a million times and have never eaten there till this visit. My son and I can in for an early lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it appears. We were sat right away but had to wait a bit for the waitress to take our drink orders. There is no kids breakfast menu so he ordered a pancake and bacon from the adult menu. I had the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad. All of the food was really good. I would order the pancakes again. The potato salad was out of this world good. The sweet tea was so good too. I wish the service was a little faster but the food is so good we will be back.

I have been going to The Carriage House since they were located across the street and considered it a favorite place to eat. Our family went there tonight for Mother’s Day meal. Our son and his wife and three children, our daughter and her husband and two children with their date. A total of 13 and we were presented with a “party menu” with very limited items. We asked if we could have a regular menu and were rudely told NO! Needless to say we got up and left and WILL NOT EAT THERE AGAIN! So if you want to enjoy a meal and your family and your group is larger that 8 I would suggest you find another restaurant!

Owner was VERY rude to my family. She accused my brother of not paying for his food after the waitress vouched for him. She made us feel very unwelcome from the time we sat down. Food was mediocre, I’ve had better! After the service we received I’ll never go into this establishment ever again nor would I recommend anyone to eat there unless you’re white I hate to say it , my family (which is African American) felt pretty discriminated against and not wanted, very disheartening!

Stopped here for breakfast and were seated right away. I had the country fried steak with eggs and hash browns. Everything was good. My husband had the corned beef hash with eggs. His was good too. Our server was good until the bill came. Instead of charging us for the corned beef hash platter, she charged us like $9 instead of the menu price of $7.50. When we pointed in out, she was like "no, that's correct". My thoughts are why have a menu if you don't honor what is on it. Not sure if she just rang it in wrong or what. Since this was a stop on a road trip and we don't live close enough to go back on purpose, this will probably not make our list of places to go out of your way for. The food is decent, but not spectacular. Give them a shot, but check your bill!!
Great place, simple menu good food and great service. We stopped here on our way to Disney and we’re very happy overall. It’s not fancy, but it is a great family place

I had eaten at this restaurant years ago and wanted to try it again. I recently moved back to Winston-Salem. Once was enough. I had the marinated beef strips, salad and steak fries. I ordered the beef strips medium rare. When the meal finally arrived, the beef strips were well done. I complained to the waitress and she said the guy had a number of things on the grill prepping for tomorrow. I responded that he should be paying attention to the orders for today. She then copped an attitude and informed in a hateful tone that he was running a one man show back there. I told her to just take the beef strips off the ticket. I would not recommend this restaurant.
