When my friends and I came in the environment was overwhelmingly unwelcoming. We started off going into the shop and the owner asks and how many, as if he were going to seat us then he proceeds to tell us “pick a seat” but that’s not even the bad part. We sit and he gives us waters and menus and provides glances at us which are quite unsettling. It was as if he wanted to fight or argue about something but was just trying to find a way to. We then get our food which was not as good as it could have been. He then talks to a guy who is trying to seemingly buy the shop off of him and starts communicating very uncomfortable topics as we sat at the table, mind you we were the only customers there, then went on to talking about how he hates the town and certain racial groups. It just made my friends and I very uneasy. I never leave reviews but please spare yourself the time and money and do not go here!

To put it politely the food was okay at best, nothing spectacular to warrant a second visit. I also found the atmosphere unwelcoming and rather odd for a restaurant setting. The service was a bit slow, and I found the conversation the owner was having with another customer to be rather inappropriate and not suitable for a restaurant environment. Overall my experience was unenjoyable and not worth it for the food, I do not recommend this restaurant considering their are several other Thai & Pho options in Winston.

Duck soup was excellent. Ambiance was pretty lackluster and the chicken dishes were pretty disappointing for the price.

Pho is not authentic. The broth is salty. If you want good Pho, this is not a place to eat. Also please check your bill. Price charged on the bill was more than it suppose to be. When I told the waiter that the price was not correct, his respond was not sorry at all and started to react in a mean attitude. The waiter added in high tips for himself and several additional fees. A bowl of pho costs $18 with a glass of water end up paying over $25.

Downtown Thai and Pho donated about $500 worth of food to my school at Philo-Hill Magnet Academy for the teachers through Communities for Schools. The food was ABSOLUTELY AH-MAZING! My teachers could not stop eating the spring rolls, the and all of the noodles we had. It was the best food experience they had since we have been here. I want to give them all of the praise for outstanding food but also for their benevolence to the community. They are a community partner and I we are thankful.-Philo-Hill Magnet Academy

Went here for lunch and began my order with “May I have….” Etc….owner comes back with our drinks and proceeds to say something on the lines of “Don’t say May I when you order. Say I will have…, You’re American, start acting like it”. He said it very rudely and was not in a joking manner. I responded with “Excuse me? What did you just say?”…..after processing what he had said, I got up and told him “I’m good” and walked out.Just to add some context to all of this, I am 33 years old and have served my community for the last 8 years. The balls on this guy lolI wouldn’t let my dogs eat here.

The food is appalling and does not taste like Thai at all. Quite expensive too. The decor was strange and disjointed. I did not enjoy at all unfortunately.

Walking in was a breathe of fresh patriotic air. Soup, the owner couldn’t have been more polite and inviting to everyone who was walking in. The atmosphere made me feel welcomed as if that was my home even tho It was my first experience. He was professional, courteous, and funny! The food was incredibly tasty! I’m going back tomorrow night! Thank you Soup?

My boyfriend and I love it here, this was our second time going and we will be back again. The food is great and the owner is friendly and charismatic.Update: it’s been 7 months or so since I’ve been here, went back tonight 01/04/2024 and nothing has changed. Food is still great, the owner treats us like family, conversations are always great, respective and fun will definitely be back again !
