*UPDATE* Went yesterday to grab a pound of barbecue and it has so much fat in it that sometimes that's ALL your bite consists of and that's a shame. I have adjusted the star rating appropriately. I also went inside vs drive thru. It'll be a long while before I go back. So disappointing! The BEST chopped BBQ sandwich in town. Love that you can get a mix and match with fries and hush puppies! I will be coming for the Mom's Night Off deal soon. Thank you ?

I've eaten at Mr. Barbecue many times over decades before the pandemic and expected the same level of service and delicious BBQ as before but something has changed about the place. I wish I could say something positive about my visit. I did find a good parking space but that was probably because there were only three other people in the restaurant at noon. I still had to wait at the cash register for someone to take my order (I was the only one in line). Once I sat down with my food, I was so disappointed.The BBQ was terrible. Mr Barbecue has been around for decades but their better years seem to be behind them. Very unfortunate for such a BBQ institution. Maybe I just caught them on an off day.

What happened to you after the fire ? you went up on pricing and you cheapend the food. Fries are bad, BBQ by the pound is to soupy , Hotdogs ? are a messy blame that on who makes them very disappointed i have eaten there for 25

First time coming here, so convenient that they have a drive thru and it was fast and delicious! Only thing I wish they had mac and cheese on the menu.
Fast, friendly and tastes excellent. Best brisket in Winston! I'm GRATEFUL to have Mr. Barbeque right up the street.
