The prawn malai curry is the special!! It was amazing! Our server Josh E. Recommended it and told my husband and I that the chef has worked on the sauce for three weeks and 27 different tries before he was happy with the results! I recommend everyone try it!! I sincerely apologize for not eating here sooner, and I don't know if anyone really understands how deep of a compliment that is.I was the person who exclusively ate chicken nuggets and ramen packets for almost the entirety of my life thus far. Over the years I have (very slowly) gained a taste for other types of food and NOTHING has ever impressed me as much as this restaurant right here. Unfortunately, I'm a huge texture person so a lot of vegetables turn me off to certain dishes simply because i know the dish would taste better if I could enjoy all of its flavors. Today I felt like ordering something new and unique and got the Sweet Potato Dumplings with Masala Gravy, Saffron Rice, and Truffle Parmesan Naan - I don't think I could have possibly come up with a better combination of flavors if I tried but all of it in one bite had me feeling like a milk-drunk baby. My boyfriend got the Lamb Shank and Saffron Rice with Vegetables and Garlic Naan and it's fair to say he was equally as impressed. This has to be, by far, one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to.Also- SHOUTOUT to the kind people who were working that day who had such pleasant conversations with us during a slower time in business. We searched for our server's name but didn't see it on the receipt and honestly were too enamored by everything to think to ask as we left, but she was GREAT (If the restaurant could narrow it down and comment it back we would love to know who she was!). She took the time to make recommendations, explain certain menu items, point out the more spicy dishes, and so much more.Thank you to our server, all the kitchen staff, the other people working, and to whoever made that absolutely amazing menu. PLEASE do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this place as soon as you possibly can. PLUS we have leftovers (of which I will certainly inhale the rest of tomorrow).

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Oh' Calcutta for a spontaneous night out, and wow, what an experience! From the friendly welcome by the wait staff, especially Josh who served us , to the attentive service all evening, we felt like we were among friends. The menu was a treasure trove of delicious options, and my vegan dish, alongside the Tikka Masala, blew us away. The staff's warmth and genuine friendliness made our dinner unforgettable, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit to Oh' Calcutta!

If you are here for the ambiance, service, social media, and you normally enjoy very mild food; you will be really happy here. However, if you have tasted even Costco frozen Indian food. You will be disappointed with the flavor here. We had a big group and covered a lot items on the menu. I'm confident to say that the flavor here is wayyyyy watered down, to the level that it's not even Indian food anymore. The chicken masala tastes like chicken in tomato soup. Vindaloo tastes mostly just salty. Lamb shanks got no flavor and the meat is not falling off the bone. The tandoori chicken wings are actually just fried chicken wings with some kind of sauce. Even as fried chicken wings, they are very dry and salty, again no flavor. Btw, can you believe the rice in biriyani is undercooked? If you like Crunchy biriyani, go for it. The goat got good texture, flavor is just ok. It's probably the best thing among everything we ordered, but it's just ok. Honestly, for the price I expect them to at least do the chicken wing right, but they can't even do that. I think any other Indian restaurant could do much better than this. I don't understand how they got so many good reviews and staying so popular with such underwhelming food. Come on people in Winston, please go try some real Indian food.
This place is AMAZING and our server Josh did not steer us wrong with his suggestions. Even the owner Gopal stopped by to chat. I highly recommend the goat and the biriyani. The Parmesan Truffle Naan was a great variation on a staple.

The food was absolutely delicious. I love Indian cuisine so when I heard about this new restaurant in Winston I had to try it.Very cool location, good service overall. Food was wonderful and the drinks were perfectly made.Keep in mind, that this isn’t your typical Indian restaurant, it is more of a high scale Indian cuisineNonetheless, it is pretty great.We will definitely be back at this location and try different items.FYI, this is a great place for a date night just saying.
