The food was cold and flavorless. Don’t expect authentic mexican food here.

I had some type of burrito. It wasn't bad. Cheese sauce was good. The chicken and ground beef was bland and seemed to be cooked with no seasoning.

Food was pretty good, service was good. The queso is worth the extra $5 Ordered a Mojito and it wasn't very good. The waiter had it remade and it still wasn't very good. I appreciated him trying to make it right, it may have been an issue with the bar. For Mexican food, this place is pretty expensive, which I guess comes with the area it is in. Overall, would not hesitate to return.

Was greeted quickly, seated and served also quickly. However, I ordered a soup and they should definitely list broccoli and cauliflower as one of the ingredients. I hate broccoli and as soon as the soup was delivered I could smell it. I've never had broccoli and cauliflower and a Mexican soup before. The salsa was really good however the guacamole tasted like it was squirted out of a tube. The picture is after I removed most of the broccoli.

We ate here in January 2023 and had a good experience. This visit was different . The salsa had limited flavor other than Stewed tomatoes. I had a vegetarian burrito and a bean burrito. Refried beans in the burrito was not very flavorful. The veggies were limited in the veggie burrito. The red sauce was bland. We noticed the numbers of customers were way down compared to neighboring restaurants. Our server was pleasant and did a fine job. The atmosphere is good. Their food is like a cheap Mexican restaurant. We expected much more for the historic area.

I had the Enchilada Supreme which was fantastic! It included two chicken, one ground beef, and one cheese enchilada. The enchiladas were covered with a minimum of sour cream and pico de gallo. Unfortunately, no rice or beans were included with the meal. Wife had the Enchilada Ranchero which had chunk pork on top with guacamole and red sauce. Repeat order for my wife. Salsa was good too. We ordered the jumbo regular lime Margarita which was good but too high of an alcoholic content. Our regular Mexican restaurant is El Tori, but may make El Potrero our number one.

Our son goes to college in Lincoln. We are from San Antonio, Texas so we know good Mexican food. This is the only place we’ve found that we like in the whole town. It will be our go to food choice when In town. We’ve tried about very type and style of restaurant in Lincoln. This is amazing for Lincoln. We went to the south location. It was excellent service and we got our food fast.

I ordered delivery and it was SO disappointing. Chicken in the enchiladas was completely unseasoned, the tortillas hadn't been cooked, and the Mexican rice was just plain (and it tasted like jasmine rice, which was really weird). I threw most of it away. VERY disappointing for the price.I've eaten at El Potrero in person and it was great. Maybe they just don't care about delivery orders.

The food and atmosphere are good. However, it took us about 30 minutes to get our drinks, chips and salsa. My husband also asked for a water refill and never got it. Any time we asked the waitress again for something she just responded "I know".

Service is incredibly poor. I went to the downtown location. Ordered food at 12:30 on their website. Said it would be ready at 1pm. Start walking down to the location at 1pm to give them extra time to make it, about a 8-10 minute walk just in case of a lunch rush. Get there said I have a order for pick up. 6 people staff members up front, one of the staff was drinking a margarita Not a single person spoke English.. which I mean it’s fine but your in downtown lincoln Nebraska.. but anyway they asked me 3 times if I wanted to order or have a menu and no I have a order for pick up, gave order number and assuming they went to go check since they all just walked away while reception just played on her phone. Another 10 minutes of waiting I ask again, did they find my order? Now it’s 1:30, they finally bring it up to me asking me if this is it and I’m like is it? I have to check the bag to ensure it’s mine. I take my food back to work and it’s ice cold. TONS of other options in downtown, go there. Also mention there was not a single person eating in the restaurant, two guests outside who I could see constantly looking at door and looking around to get served. Never been there before and won’t be back.

Stopped here while on a business trip and was a local rec. Food was excellent and portions were generous. I ordered it for take out, but restaurant looked clean and the lady up front was very nice. Would definitely visit again if I’m in the area ever.

El Potrero at this place is quite big both indoors and outdoor seating, more than 100 in total. They have complete mexican menu and Food is good. Cocktails too are good. Chicken soup bowl is so big that a family need to share this. But it was good, chicken with lots of veggies.

Birria tacos were stuffed with shredded beef & were great, however taco shells were too soft to hold everything, small detail! Margaritas, good but a bit on the sweet side. Overall, good spot & would go again!
