My father is vegetarian, so we stopped here on our road trip so he could have something to eat. We got a burger, sandwich, and onion rings! They were absolutely delicious! My dad loved it and so did I, and I’m not even vegetarian! The owner was so nice and patient with my tree nut allergy and cooked everything separate for us. She was very friendly and made conversation with us. This restaurant is great, would highly recommend for anyone looking for good vegetarian and vegan food!

Absolutely the best tots in town!! My veggie burger was amazing as well!! The inside is cozy, but it gave me chance to get a good look at what other people were eating. Lol. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be back!!

Went there on 2/4/24 around 11:45 am. There were four people in front of my own party of four. Someone came out from the kitchen and said the four people in front of us could order and then said in a gruff tone, "I am going to have to call it. We're out." That was it. I was sort of expecting an "I'm sorry" or "Please come back again" but those were not the words verbalized. Then we were ignored. We turned around and left. The incident made us feel like it was an establishment with an unpleasant atmosphere. I realize circumstances happen and in all reality I am not interested in going back. I cannot even give the restaurant a rating.

Absolutely love Rutabagas & the owner Sara! She cares about her customers and goes above & beyond to give the best experience and make you feel like family! The food is delicious for a vegan lifestyle, and meat-eaters alike. Best nachos in town!

Yes, they're back. We got food for six and I can't tell you about the ambiance as we got takeout and someone else picked it up. Not sure if the fake meat is made in house or not; it's a gyro meat type texture which was a bit odd in the veggie reuben (otherwise very tasty, though not as good as Open Harvest's). We got a Swiss mushroom burger (homemade patty a bit soft; it was OK); a Reuben (you can also get a Rachel if that's your jam); a special tofu /rice /edamame bowl (spicy, good; would have preferred a noncreamy sauce); jackfruit nachos and special mac and "cheese" at the request of a local vegan (who absconded with the mac; the nachos were tasty and heavily layered with corn for texture; just a little sweet which was odd); cauliflower tots (tasty; heavy on the batter); fried dill pickles (large spears, not slices, also batter-heavy); and a Cubano. Even the non-vegetarian folks liked the Cubano. They said the food would be ready in half an hour, which we didn't believe and indeed it wasn't - they threw in some cookies as an apology, which were tasty if a bit crumbly (they are gluten-free). You get your choice of sauces; try zinging the beet hummus with a little garlic powder; the teriyaki sauce and honey mustard are good choices.

I’ve only been to Rutabagas a couple times but have been so impressed each time! The burgers and Crab Rangoon nachos are SO delicious and the house made ranch is some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been vegan for a few years now and can’t express how amazing it is to go somewhere and be able to order ANYTHING on the menu! It’s almost too hard to choose haha! Be sure to go hungry because you will leave full and satisfied! Pics of Crab Rangoon nachos, Patty Melt, and Cowgirl Ruta-burger.

The buffalo chik'n mac n cheese is SO GOOD. It has a creamy coconut "cheese" sauce and so much flavor. It is cutely decorated inside with live plants. It is a small restaurant so be aware it may be packed if you go during a peak time. There was also a significant wait on my take out order, but for a small local spot this isn't unexpected.

Great service! The place looks so beautiful with all the plants and decor they got going on. I got the Ruba-Big Mac and it was messy but delicious ?, the sauce taste amazing, and I got a salad as my side came with this dressing that was AMAZING, not sure what it was but that alone will be bringing me back!Love that they have so many options to choose from and all around wonderful service and good vibes ❤️

This place is incredible. During my first visit, shortly after they opened up in Meadowlane, I had the Kale’ing It Buddha Bowl. I loved it so much I ordered it the next time. I highly recommend it. Recently, I wanted my two out-of-town sons and their ladies to try it. One meat-loving son lives in Texas while the other, a strict vegan, lives in L.A. All four of them couldn’t get enough of the wide variety, freshness and flavorful food. How is it possible that one place could satisfy such different appetites?! The Patty Melt is delicious (with cole slaw-so good!), the Nachos…I could go on (but I won’t)!

Delicious and creative meatless food offerings that earn the "comfort food" label. I can't recommend it enough I'm just so happy it's available here in Lincoln.Vegetarian options: It's so good. Meatless food for meat eaters, and as a former meat eater sometimes I really miss some of the food. It's so nice to be able to experience a Reuben or a Cubano sandwich again!!!!! It's a nice touch that broccoli is a side choice.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options and when I was in I heard how accommodating they were. Very cool

Finally got to try Rutabagas! As a vegetarian in Lincoln, options are severely limited. Most of the time I find myself ordering a salad with nothing on it and filling up on free bread. The fact that I can order ANYTHING off this menu is crazy. Delicious delicious food and great staff. I’ve tried a few things but so far the onion rings and cauli wings are by far my favorite. Their lemonade is delicious too! Must try and Lincoln is truly better because of this place!
