Used to be the absolute best place for really good Mexican food. Recently it’s dropped off so bad. Orders are consistently wrong, quality isn’t that great, service is poor. Most recent trip, we ordered something small, it was dropped off and we never saw anyone again. No drinks, chips, etc. went up to leave and ended up getting charged multiple times. Waiting for it to come off my statement. Used to love this place, now it’s just terrible

Strip mall location and interior does not support good atmosphere. Skirt steak was very tough. Overall, it was an ok place recommended by my motel.

This place was referred to me by the employees from the Hampton InnI must agree that this place was super impressive. Authentic, flavorful, great staff, reasonable price. No waiting.I highly recommend this place for any one looking for authentic Mexican food. They guy recommended the 3 amigos plate which had, steak, chicken, shrimp, rice and beans and a cheese enchilada. Super delicious

The worst tortilla soup ever tasted like watered down tomato juice and nothing but soggy tortilla strips. I only ate a few swallows before putting it back in the container and throwing it in the trash. Is there anywhere in North Platte to get a decent tortilla soup or were we just spoiled by El'Varte?PS Tasteless and the lime dry couldn't get any lime juice out of it at all but at least it wasn't awful and only half of it got thrown away.

The best thing about this restaurant is the friendly service. And a quick survey of the clientele shows that it is a local favorite. Although it is in a strip shopping row, the venue inside was pure Mexican, even to the point of Telemundo on the TV in Spanish. Prices are low by today's inflationary standards but you get what you pay for sometimes. We found the food mediocre. The rice is pretty bland but the refried beans weren't bad. The street tacos were made with fresh onions and cilantro but the marinated pork was over grilled and a bit dry. The flautas were fried perfectly but the shredded beef was bland. The guacamole had been piped from a pastry bag and was far to lemony.... a trick to make it last longer before it oxidizes. But with the guacamole the flautas were decent. The salsa was flavorful but extremely mild and I can only speculate that is the way the locals like it. And the chips were fairly thick and a bit stale; I couldn't tell if they make them locally or if they come from a restaurant supply store. I tried a frozen Mango marguerita and couldn't taste or feel any alcohol but it was a nice dessert. If you are traveling, this location is quite a ways from the main services at the north end of town where old U.S. 30 passes through. This place is decent if your expectations are not too high. Unfortunately ours were, lol.
