Not my type of place at all. And I’m sure the animals have health problems from eating fried food all day, everyday. I don’t know who thought this place was a good idea.

Best chicken in town. Takeout is always amazing too. They don’t mess up orders. And watching the cats and raccoons eat the leftovers is a great time.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love watching the animals eat.
My kids and husband had been here before but I hadn't so they wanted to take me. It was a very busy day and apparently they were short staffed. The sign stated please seat yourself. Then In tiny letters "or get on wait list." We did not see that part. So we seated ourselves in one of the several empty tables (two adults, 3 kids). Waitress came up and informed us they are short staffed and we if we aren't on the wait list we need to get up. Fine. I asked where we get on the wait list. Waitress says, rudely, "with one of us, I just told you that." Me: "I'm sorry I didn't hear you, no need to be rude." Waitress: "You Were rude first. Look around you. We are busy and short staffed which I already told you." She is screaming at me at this point, and not even trying to not cause a scene (I was quiet but firm this entire interaction). I ended up in tears and we left the restaurant. As someone whose family owns a restaurant, I understand the demands, especially when you are short staffed. But guests/customers should never be made to feel like an inconvenience or like they aren't wanted. I'd had a long day and admittedly, maybe I wasn't the most polite either. But I did not deserve to be spoken to like that. Maybe if I had been a regular, as I've seen several reviews state, this wouldn't have happened. I guess I'm not part of in in crowd, so it doesn't matter how I'm treated or spoken to.

Kid-friendliness: Lots of locals rave about Alpine serving the best fried chicken around, but for me, it's too greasy and heavy. Family friendly, rustic , and the little ones will love to watch the raccoons and feral cats dine on the leftovers put out for them by the staff.
It was clean and the people were friendly but you didn’t see them much. They do not take credit card or debit but you can pay with a QR code that takes you to their online shop. So if you don’t feel confident In doing that bring cash. It took us 30 minutes from ordering to get food so be surprised by that. The food is good and seeing them put food out for the animals is fun.

What a fun and unique experience! I cannot say enough good things - the raccoons are fantastic (and kitties). The staff is amazing. Food is excellent. The whole vibe was comfy and beyond neat. Cannot wait to go back!
Chicken was really good. It's cool to watch raccoons eat while you do, which is why we came there. Service was great being busy and short handed!

Amazing bar in the middle of the woods that seems to be a sanctuary for generations of raccoons. Last I saw, they added a couple new creatures to the team. Stray cat and little fox roam around there for the leftover chicken wings as well. Great food and atmosphere.
