You know the food is going to be incredible when the owner is standing behind the counter when you walk in. Nina was patient and gave me a taste of her two sauces when I was indecisive about which to choose. I went for the fufu and it was everything I imagined. Soft, fluffy and slightly chewy. The spinach sauce was thick and robust, completed with the succulent lamb. 10/10. The high protein steak bowl was the other dish we tried. The steak was tender and flavorous. The peanut sauce is rich and comforting. 10/10. Nina’s flavored lemonades are unique and tasty, as might be expected. I could eat her food every single day. We were so full but couldn’t stop eating. Hopefully the company expands to Lincoln ;) Thank you so much, Nina!!
The food here is excellent!! Such wonderful, bright flavors. I ordered the Jeloff #2. Everything was cooked perfectly, excellent flavors. Do not skip the plantains. They were easily my favorite part of the dish. Homemade lemonades are also wonderful and refreshing. Great service and experience. Highly recommend for something fresh and healthy.

Food was unique and amazing! It must have been the owner that helped me too. She was amazing. I will definitely be back. Despite being unique flavors, all the dishes were so tasty and I ate my whole steak bowl.
I ordered from here two different times. The first time I ordered from inside & the lady was rude to me & the second time I ordered delivery. Both times the food was disgusting! Ive had way better!

I love the flavor, However over the last couple month, the service provided by the owner was very rude, cold, and inconsistent. The portions compared to other places are extremely small she puts the fufu in the same small black meal prep container as the engusi, I feel if im paying almost 25 dollars for each entree the fufu should be on the side and the engusi soup should fill up the entirety of the meal prep box. IN addition she adds very little of the soup, she will fill it up with the other 2 sides if you add it to the point you cant even taste or barely see the ensusi ( which is the key element of the dish) Then I asked for extra fufu (my daughter likes it with her peanut chicken and they from what I was told only sell it with the engusi soup. However, my other went in there and she asked him how many extra fufu he wanted, with no issues. I was offended due to her telling me I had to buy another engusi soup if I wanted another fufu. I have was a regular but over time with the level of service and portions being reduced we will more than likely not b e visiting the restaurant any more

I love this place, the food is fresh and the service is friendly! I enjoy the different flavors and textures of their dishes, unlike any other food you can get in Omaha. I've never dined in I always take out, but I love trying new things every time I order. The plantains are my favorite, I get those every time!

Okra is a counter service bowl restaurant serving well made African food. It is built around bowls where the customer chooses a grain, a protein, and a selection of side dishes. They also have an array of house made juices that are very well made. I had a hibiscus tea with an array of spices. Clove, I thought was a particularly good choice. It is informal and the service was friendly and prompt. We will go back.

First time at the Okra you can build your bowl, I got blackeyes beans, corn,chicken, plankton rice, and vegetable sauce. Could not eat it all in one sitting. Worth the trip.

Okra hits the spot. The offerings on the menu are varied and perfectly flavoured. My favorites are the peanut butter chicken entree and the grilled fish special. You absolutely cannot go wrong with either. The fried okra is delicious too. I am so happy that this restaurant is here in Omaha and successful. Please make sure to stop in for a meal; it will make you happy!

I ordered the bowl. White rice, steak, fried plantains, tomato sauce with feta cheese. My other half had the chicken with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce wasn't the best. The steak was more like a roast. I do under stand the price of things are going up. The price you pay and you only get to pick one meat and choose up to four toppings. The toppings were very limited. The service was ok the person that help me didn't smile when I was trying to joke with him. The place was very quiet not very many people inside at the time I was in. I can at least say I tried it but I won't return.
