Fantastic coffee shop just across the street from Central High School. Astute has a full drink menu, but is exceptional due to their extensive pour over offerings. The baristas explained to me that the owner is passionate about curating amazing beans, and is always open to suggestions. Onyx are their standard beans for drip, and their pour over menu currently features roastaries in Berkeley, North Carolina, and Holland! The quality of the coffee is reflected in the pricing, so don't come here if you are looking for a cheap cup o' joe. Lovely space, in the round, with lots of natural light.

Love this place! Pour over coffee with really rich and complex backgrounds are a specialty! The staff is friendly, and knowledgeable! I love that they also show support and love for the Black community and LGBTQIA+ community! The seating area is unique in a round shape. Beautifully decorated with MCM inspired furniture. The general "feel" is this sort of warm sunny amber toned "relax and stay a while."

There might be a good reason for this coffee shop to open late. But I had to go somewhere that opened earlier.

Exceptional multi-roaster cafe, great atmosphere, and a fantastic organization. So many pour over offerings from some of the world’s top roasters, almost impossible to choose what to drink (in the best possible way). Can’t afford to miss this spot if you’re in

I want to love this place. I think the mission is amazing. The people are friendly! The place is cool and welcoming. But the coffee…oh my. Before I say what I say I have talked to some roasters around the country to make sure I’m not wrong. But it is problematic when a coffee shop has no coffee stronger than a light-medium roast. Especially when the beans they use for their espresso are roasted shorter than development of any caramelization. When I entered I asked for a dark brew. I was told they only had an Ethiopian Yerga. Not my thing. Way too acidic. So I asked for an Americano. Got my americano and took one sip and puckered my lips. No way…they use a light roast for Espresso? So I asked some questions and shortly after then brought a single espresso shot for me to try. It was to be frank undrinkable. Even my hubby couldn’t believe it. I want this place to succeed so I beg them - reconsider your coffee profile. Have your acidic coffees but broaden your portfolio. And find a different espresso bean.

This place is an adorable way to study!! I love the round aesthetic and vibes in here to study. Staff was nice and helpful. The coffee was good as well. I love checking out new coffee shops for study spots and this one matched the vibe I was going for

I am so glad I tried this place while visiting Omaha. I planned on getting a pour over from Onyx. But the manager encouraged me to try a really unique pour over from Dak. So glad I took his advice! I ended up buying a bag of beans to take home and my husband is even more thrilled by it. What a great experience. Thanks!

I finally stopped in after going past many times and am glad I did! This is a real coffee nerd’s paradise - they have an extensive pour over list, gave excellent recommendations, were very friendly and helpful, and made me one of the best and most interesting cups of coffee I’ve had in a long time. Plus, they have a great mission, comfortable seating, and a great space. I’ll definitely be coming here more often!

I decided to try this place as it was next door to my hotel. Upon approaching, I was happy to see signs of support/inclusivity for marginalized groups and noticed their sign inside that they support young adults impacted by the foster system. Their unique architecture gives the space a one of a kind feel and plenty of natural light coming through. I had a lavender latte that was absolutely delicious and the cake donut I had was great as well. Very friendly service. Great start to my day.

Astute Coffee is shaded near St. Mary Magdalene's Church in downtown omaha. Its small, yet particular building architecture hosts a wonderful place to sit, relax and read. The staff are efficient and friendly and, together with their coffee and mission statement makes for an amazing place to enjoy coffee, have a chat and enjoy time!
