Stopped in for the first time with the family at the HyVee at Shadow Lake. Kind of a weird setup, or just new to me since I've never been. It's its own restaurant, but you order outside in the deli area of HyVee, then go in, and they bring you the food. Also, I would have thought they would have their own restrooms given they are a restaurant, but you have to go out into the main grocery store area for that. Not a big dea though given it's a collaboration with the grocery store. The food took a bit longer than expected to come out, but nothing too crazy. The staff that brought our food were very friendly. The restaurant area itself is very clean and well kept looking. Our food was also pretty tasty and fairly priced. I ordered tater tots with my burger and they were cooked perfectly... Golden crisp on the outside, soft inside, and nicely salted. For my main, i ordered the Wahlbuger. I ordered mine medium, but it was more medium rare than a true medium. Tasty nonetheless.Overall, it was a good experience--clean facility, reasonable prices, friendly staff, tasty food, and heck, if you eat here first, you won't go shopping hungry and maybe save some on your grocery bill lol! Definitely worth trying out if you haven't already.

Service is good, for a "non-restaurant" restaurant. The atmosphere is alright, but it's inside a grocery store, so whatever. Food is great, though.

I did not like my Chicken Sandwich from there and probably won't give them another chance. I called and informed them of the bad experience and the manager of the Hy Vee store was very nice though.

I actually really like Wahlburgers - we've been to a sit-down version in another city and it was great. However, the Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee is simply an addition to their own restaurant and the food was unfortunately not good. :( It tasted nothing like the actual restaurant food I've experienced and was just a huge disappointment. Our family had been really excited about Wahlburgers coming to town, but wow was this not what we were anticipating.I CAN say that the employees at this Hy-Vee are always wonderful and the service was great, so this in no way reflects the service we received. We were simply disappointed by the food.

Burgers are good, but on higher end of price scale for a burger place. And being that it's in a grocery store food court, the pricing doesn't really fit the environment.

So I hate this already. First time writing a negative review. Normally, I just refrain from commenting but in this case I couldn't pass on sharing our experience. Good and Bad. 1. Ingredients are good. Crunchy when supposed to be. Juicy when expected. Nothing dangerous or overtly gross. 2. It Took three attempts to get the Kids Sliders without Cheese. The kid just won't stand for it, and I don't blame her. It's plain by default; and she just didn't want cheese...pretty simple. Normally, I can slide off the cheese but this was the meltiest...most gooey cheese ever. Second time, I was actually confused. I thought maybe they accidentally brought out the original one with cheese, by accident. The Kid was patient...lucky for us...but each re-do was +10 min...so yeah, she was pissed eventually. Donny, Maybe they just needed to take it "step by step."3. My burger/meal. Meh. Yeah...ingredients and temp were good, plus it was a real high quality beef. Crunchy pickles. Sauce was flavorful but not overpowering. Curds were kinda soggy and not really plentiful. The Buck to Burger ratio was kinda...weak and less than ideal. Donny...it wasn't really "the right stuff."4. Maybe a small petty thing but the at the entrance to Shadow Lake there is a GIANT electronic billboard when you enter. While arguing about where to eat, the tie breaker ended when the screen blasted a huge Ad, "WAHLBURGERS KIDS EAT FREE." Cool. I'm down for that! When we ordered, I delicately inquired about the kids deal...and I got this "well...corporate...not...kinda...doing that anymore." I didn't have the energy or desire to be a tool about it but if you can't honor a deal that's blasted on a JumboTron; maybe call the sign guy. It's hardly the "good vibrations" I would expect from Marky Mark. Dining Room was clean. Sweet big booths! Otherwise, staff was nice...hated being a nag but after the first time...I think we were both disappointed when I had to speak. Paul Wahl would probably be wicked pissed.

It's a bit weird of a configuration, having a restaurant inside of a grocery store. Ordering is done at a deli counter in the store, then you take your number to a table inside the seating area. The burgers and sides were very good. Service (from a deli counter person) was decent. Since the drinks are self-serve, they only came to the table once. It's more like a fast food experience than a sit down restaurant experience. The food is better than fast food, but otherwise it's much like dining in a DQ.They had several tv's playing college football. All of them tuned to the Nebraska game when it came on. If they let you stay and watch the whole game, it could be a decent place to do so. Decent food, free drink refills, not super busy or loud.

The wings were undercooked, and my Caesar salad had a rock in it, which I bite into. Thank God my tooth didn't get chipped. They said the manager would be informed but unsure if they were. 20 minutes after eating, i threw up. Never returning there after that experience.

Average, at best. Seemed like run of the mill frozen patty with store bought tots. Definitely not worth the cost.

Can only order on line. At Hy-Vee trying to order but we site is not up to the task. you'd be lucky to get 5g out of that place.

The food took a long time to get to us. It was cold. The reason given was that they were short staffed. There were a total of 4 people in the restraunt, including us. Poor and rude customer service. We will not return.

Worst part about this place is the staff. I'd prolly give it 3.5 stars or maybe 4 if their staff wasn't so inappropriate and unprofessional. I've been there 4 times. I like to give places the opportunity to show me that my experience was a one off but unfortunately, 3 out of 4 times my experience was the same. The staffers in there having lunch talking poorly about the food, the other staffers, or talking about very very illicit weekend activities all while sitting right next to me and young kids that were seated first. On to the food, me and my kids had the crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato tots and French fries. Thought the food was actually great. Tasted fresh and super yummy. I could eat my weight in those tots! So, if you're to going grocery shopping at Hy-Vee and don't want to shop on an empty stomach cuz you know you will most likely let your empty stomach persuade you into purchasing way more snacks than usual.... Then yea, I recommend trying Wahlburgers.

I will start off by saying that every one of the staff we encountered were great ? on to the food. Just not impressed for the price. I mean everything was ok, but flavor is lacking. I would love to try a stand alone Wahlburgers. It seems that this is an afterthought for Hy-Vee. Atmosphere has soooo much potential could be a cool little spot with their bar etc. I noticed in the restrooms and around the eating entrance and by beverage center that it is dirty, specifically restrooms (they are nasty)
