Exactly what you want in a tavern! Quaint atmosphere full of history in downtown Concord. Easily accessible, the tavern offers guests a homey and welcoming feel. The only downside was the food, it was bland and missing some zest and 'pop' of flavor. Ordered the artichoke dip and the chips were thick, hard and had no flavor on their own; they also appeared to be covered in paprika which didn't add to the flavor profile. The sweet potato fries were good, but (again) on their own they were okay. Really loved the pumpkin apple bisque, that was definitely a treat!

Nice friendly place, the food came to us very quickly and was prepared as requested. The French fries are amazing! Good beer menu and marvelous Snickerdoodle Martinis. The prices are good for the area. Street parking with kiosk payment required until 7 pm.

St Patty’s day birthday celebration we had mussels, Brussel sprouts, soft pretzels, & Blarney Puffs for apps they were terrific, black and tans excellent, dinner hangover burger, special burger, Mac and cheese, corned beef and the Shepard’s pie. Burgers were delicious, Mac and cheese to die for, Shepard’s pie excellent but the corned beef was a little dry probably spent too much time in the warmer. Our server Brando was very good memorized all our orders very personable. Recommend coming back. Cheers.

Been here 50 times. The food is always good. There are two types of people in this world. Those that like the Guinness beef stew and those who are wrong.

Brandon was a very good server. He served up delicious mahi mahi tacos and a fish and chip dinner for my husband. We both enjoyed our food. BIG TURNOFF….the place is dirty…old bathroom with water- stained ceiling tiles…first sunny spring like day with the sun shining through filthy windows… the place needs to be renovated and at the very least cleaned.

Good atmosphere, good location, and friendly staff. They buy from a local farm, and the burgers and apps were delicious.

Wish they had better offerings in the food selection. Maybe it is just a burger house?

Went there for the first time tonight. burger was very good, cooked just right and the fries were crispy and tasty without all that salty coating. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

My wife and I dine out weekly and decided to try The Barley House in Concord. Prior to our visit we signed up for their loyalty rewards. The service was good, and atmosphere OK but as frequent diners, we wanted to share a few other comments about the food and their loyalty rewards program. My wife and I both ordered their Turkey and Mozzarella sandwich, but neither of our sandwiches actually had any mozzarella on them. Our server couldn't find us in their loyalty rewards program, but fortunately for us, we had our email confirmation. The email letter said "please enjoy 15% off your next visit", but the 15% was only applied to the food portion and not the drink portion of the bill (misleading advertising for sure!). They also offered a lunch punch card in the loyalty rewards email, but in fact, there was no punch card offered and our server knew nothing about this punch card. The bottom line is that our experience was a bit disappointing.
