No porkin way is a fun and tasty vegetarian option. I also ordered the side of pickles and you get SO MANY. The maple lemonade was great too

We've passed by many times, and finally tried after a few days of backpacking nearby. This location has a walk up window, and offers a few non-alcoholic drink options like Spindrift. My husband has Celiac so he was happy they offered a gluten free bread option. They have lots of picnic tables to eat at and call your name when the food is ready. Porta-potties are also available. We were both disappointed with our grilled cheeses, and that was coming from two hungry hikers. They were ok, but didn't wow us. This would be a good quick service option for someone on their way back to accommodations or traveling.

Updated review 10/15/23.Excellent Food and atmosphere .If you're in drive to Kancamagus highway, this located at starting point of Conway.Next 32 miles you won't get food options.Due to crowd factor I have ordered online 30 mins before the destination and it was superbly packed.I ordered "The god mother " it's was good and has vegan options. For kid ordered Mac and cheese with lemonade, it was good as well..Service good as well..

What's more 'Fall' than grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup on the edge of perhaps the most scenic highway in New Hampshire?! Service was fast and friendly and the food is delicious!

The food was fantastic. I was a little disappointed in the maple lemonade, felt it could have much more of a maple flavor. The staff was very nice and had a great menu to order from. Definitely a fun family stop.

I was so disappointed with Cheese Louise. After seeing reviews for it and videos on You Tube, I was expecting something exceptional. My grilled cheese sandwich was okay, but nothing out of this world. I ordered a side of pickles, which was $5, and was very reasonably priced for the amount you get (which is way too much). However, they could decrees the amount and charge less. The mac and cheese was really mediocre at best. It did not taste like cheddar cheese, and was more like Alfredo sauce. The tomato soup was good, we were both pleased with that. The best thing we had were the homemade potato chips, which they do not make, but are made and brought in from another company.

At the start of our drive on The Kanc we spotted this little spot. Please don’t be fooled this little spot has huge flavors. My wife ordered the Canadian and I ordered the Baconator. We were delighted with the flairs and the homemade chips were great. We also had the privilege of being the first visitors to put a pin in their map of the U.S.A. DO NOT PASS UP THIS RESTAURANT!!!!

One of those places that you WANT to love, but ultimately find frustrating and slightly a farce, causing you to realize you’d never return. It starts with a great story, great concept, great theme. A perfect platform for a potential great experience and some great food… but womp, an awful execution. The customer experience for me was “meh”. The staff refused to allow swapping a readily available ingredient in, even when I offered to pay more. They also have this menu feature where you can upgrade from your chips to a different side or a salad for a $4 up-charge, but they battled with me to honor it. It’s in large/bold print in the middle of the menu - so this was wild to me. They wanted to charge me as a separate item. Two different staff members argued me on it. In fairness to the lady at the window, she was new, so she was just doing whatever someone behind her said to do on both those issues. The lady in the kitchen seemed like she really didn’t want to be there. The food was also mixed results. The grilled cheese sandwiches were actually the worst items. The grilled cheeses were small, lacked sufficient quantity of ingredients, really pricey, no depth of flavor, and failed in honesty. For a $14 grilled cheese, you got what seemed like 1 or 2 pieces of cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 paper-thin apple slices, stacked in unremarkable bread. Wild pricing. There was supposed to be maple syrup in my sandwich, but there wasn’t. The bacon was claimed to be crispy, but was actually undercooked and never had been crispy at any time. Also, the maple lemonade definitely did not have maple in it. It was a plain lemonade. This side salad that I swapped for my chips and up-charged (and they gave me such a hard time for), was amazing. Well built, good ingredients, tasty, good size, good dressing, etc. it was the star of the meal.My wife had her side upgraded to a soup, which was tomato. I typically am not a tomato soup fan, but I thought it was really good.So I guess I’d recommend going for the sides, but skipping the grilled cheeses. But doesn’t that defeat the entire point?? I just can’t imagine ever wanting to return to this place.I didn’t get the vibe that they were trying to be a “fly by night” tourist trap, but that’s what I experienced.P.S. are all your cheeses pasteurized? Some pregnant people would like to know.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches and soup and cool homemade chips! Definitely a favorite after driving the Kanc. Sometimes frustrating to figure out when they’re open. Looking forward to more hours in N.Conway location? Highly recommend!
