Ok, I give them a benefit of a doubt with 4 stars because they have been around so long. It's not quite what it used to be though. Prices are up and you get a little less in the fact they no longer serve rolls before your dinner. I know, same story everywhere, but here it seems to be more striking. Seems they've tried to accentuate the bar area, and in doing so, they are alienating the diners going for a quiet meal. The bar was rather loud during dinner with occasional outbursts of people having fun, I'm not saying that it's bad, just not what Anderson going to just have a nice meal would want. They could benefit from adding sound proofing between the bar and dining areas. As for the food, it was very good, cooked well and flavorful. Unfortunately the plate was so cold, I felt I had to eat fast or not be able to enjoy warm food. Maybe keep the plates in a warmer spot? I'll update next time I go back and see if they improve. Lastly service was good, waitstaff was pleasant and just attentive enough.

A reasonably priced seafood restaurant caught in a rather 1960's sensibility, our waitress was very good, the food quite good, and the ambiance rather a throwback. It appears to attract an older crowd, which we are.

Since our first choice for dining out tonight had an up to 2 hour wait we chose to eat at Weathervane. And, I'm sorry to say.... it was not a good choice. My drink, although not expensive, was lacking flavor. Hubby is GF so his options were limited to broiled seafood or tips. He ordered broiled scallops at market price. They were flavorless and small, not to mention only 6 in the water-filled dish costing $35!My fish and chips was fair. And kiddo seemed to be ok with her clam strips. Our waitress, who was also the bartender, was very pleasant and attentive. And, even though we mentioned the issues with the scallops at the end, there was really nothing she could have done to fix them. It was truly not her doing.

I got two cocktails The first was very good second one was made somewhat differently and our waitress didn't offer to correct it. She had an attitude as if to say she thought they were fine.

I realized I have never written a review for this restaurant and I have been going there for over 20 years. All I can say is kudos - every meal I have had there has been excellent. I've had the fried clam lunch and dinner, grilled chicken sandwich, and the root beer float, which is amazing. My husband has had the Admiral's Platter, which is fried shrimp, scallops and clams. I haven't been here in a while, but recently had the chance to stop in and got the lobster roll. It was reasonably priced (it was off season) and I opted for the celery/mayo. Lots of lobster meat, just enough mayo and the roll was not too crisp or too soft. Absolutely perfect. I opted for a side salad and ended up bringing that home because the lobster roll was so filling. This is a definite go to if you are in the area - some of the best seafood around and alternatives for those who don't like seafood. GO!

The fried whole clams and fried haddock were so delicious. The rest were good but I'd say pretty standard for the many fried seafood places in New England.
