Place is rustic...we ordered nachos and they were good. But the entrees were less than expected. The haddock was good but the steak tips were cold, had no bbq sauce or at least we couldn't taste it. The seasonal vegetables was corn and was Luke warm as were the mashed potatoes and didn't have much of a taste. And the first round of drinks were good but the second was gross, tasted like they put salt in the drink. For the price we paid the food should have been alot better. Very disappointed. I dont think well be returning.

The Ruben was okay Bread tasted a little greasy or oily. So other than that it would have been good that was a little disappointing the French soup was delicious bartender great awesome atmosphere.

I love this place! My 3 visits so far have all been great. The nachos were huge and they use real good cheese but I wish i asked for jalapenos on them. The herradurra reposado was flowing and so was the allagash white. The buffalo cobb salads are the best. Please dont change them! They are huge and in my opinion the best salad in Hampton/Seacoast area. Tv's on everywhere for entertainment. Friendly staff.

Been to the 401 a few times and always have consistent food here. The menu is mostly American pub fare. I do like the low-key laid-back vibe overall. Only issue I have is if sitting in any of the low top tables they are all bolted to the ground and seating space can be a bit tight. I'd normally venture to the bar to avoid dealing with these seats.Worth the stop if you're hungry or thirsty ample bar has all your favorites.Parking: There is parking but the lot is on the smaller side and can be a little crowded at times, Larger trucks and SUVs could find it challenging to park depending on how busy they are.

Absolutely the best prime rib around. You haven't been here then you need to go. It's very quick to get a table. It's not really wheelchair accessible though. I highly recommend

Stopped on our way home from Maine yesterday! Cool little place. Immediately greeted and told to sit "wherever"! The bartender Lucien was awesome and quick with drinks and the food! Had the Chicken pot pie and it was excellent! Great job 401! WE'll be back!
