“Walking into this cozy family run establishment I was greeted warmly by a young man, and after browsing some menu options I ordered the breakfast burrito substituting the protein for their steak option. While waiting for my food I learned that the owners son was the one taking my order and preparing my meal. I enjoyed the light banter and friendly conversation with both owners, husband and wife, who spoke with pride as their son was excited to prepare something that would, "Blow my socks off!" I felt that the atmosphere was honest and wholesome, certainly a delight to sit and enjoy a fine respite from the cold. The meal came and as you can see from my picture attached, it was Huge! I enjoyed the meal very much packing up half of it togo, and for 16 dollars for such a healthy portion and a drink I felt as though the price was honest and fair. I left a small tip at the counter jar and left with a full belly and I am looking forward to exploring the more dessert-like options that they have available. If you are looking for something with a fair and honest price and friendly atmosphere you can count on 48 Main to provide that health conscious options with the tease of cheat day at your discretion. A great find for breakfast or lunch in the heart of downtown Merideth.“
“My husband Rich and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hermit Woods Winery, a delightful spot in Meredith, NH, known for its unique approach to winemaking using locally sourced fruits and ingredients. The highlight of our visit was a wine-tasting session conducted by none other than one of the owners, Ken Hardcastle, who not only shared the fascinating history of the winery but also detailed their distinctive winemaking process.Ken’s passion for crafting wines from non-traditional ingredients was evident as he guided us through the tasting. Each wine had its own story, but the standout for us was the "Red Scare," a rich, flavorful red that perfectly encapsulated the innovative spirit of Hermit Woods.Ken’s engaging storytelling made us appreciate the complexities of each wine we tasted, enhancing the overall experience.Following the tasting, we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch at the winery’s eatery, which prides itself on its farm-to-table approach. I opted for the meatball sandwich, which was hearty and perfectly seasoned, while Rich savored the oyster appetizer, topped with apple and salt water, which he described as fresh and flavorful without needing any additional seasoning. He also had the pork belly sandwich with aioli sauce, which was equally tasty. The atmosphere at Hermit Woods was friendly and welcoming. The combination of delicious wine, excellent food, and the warm, rustic ambiance made our visit truly special. For anyone looking for a unique wine-tasting experience coupled with tasty, locally sourced food, Hermit Woods Winery is a must-visit. It’s not just about the wine; it’s about the experience, the passion, and the community. Thank you, Ken and the Hermit Woods team, for a memorable day. We left not only with 6 bottles of our favorite wines but also with great memories!“

“If Hart's is not your thing when visiting Meredith, try this fantastic alternative. Surfside is a great low key spot for burgers, seafood, tacos and a wide menu that doesn't suffer from the variety. The service on the outdoor patio is a great outdoor location for a nice day and staff is always friendly. Portion and price friendly with a good amount of quality food, you'd do yourself a favor trying this place out.“

“I owe a huge lot of thanks to Twin Barns Brewing! I had a very special request, from a very far distance, and with a very quick deadline.. But they exceeded my expectations by far!! Special thanks goes to pro-active and no-nonsense Jill, who helped me instantly, and to Chelsea, a true angel that helped make my wish come true, in a very helpful, creative and heartwarming way!! Lookin’ forward to visit Twin Barns, next time I’m in the USA!“
“This place is so great it’s hard to believe it’s here in the Lakes Region! My friend and I went because we heard the commercials, totally not expecting much, maybe a good drink. Wow, were we blown away!! The “painkiller” was awesome (we both had them), and the food was fabulous. I am looking forward to going back and bringing my sister and daughter, very happy. I’ll post pics of my drink and Cuban, my friend of their soft crab taco (AMAZING).“

“We had the most unbelievable pizzas! The gluten free crust was thin (like my sister likes), regular crust was a perfect thickness. They sold pizza by the slice (only Sicilian left, not pictured, thicker crust square cut - baby loved it!)We built our own well-done pizzas (one was gluten free, other did not have cheese). Prices here were comparable to what we would have ordered from Domino's glad we ended up here! Only wish is they were open a bit later“
