This place has amazing service, even during our post-COVID world where I’m sure places are struggling with being fully staffed. Our waiter was amazing and very quick, did not catch his name but he served us on June 6th at around 7:30PM, definitely wanted to give him a shout out because a LOT of other places we have gone in York have had pretty awful service, I’m sure because places are understaffed. Whoever you are, thank you for being awesome and we are definitely coming back every year now.

Great location. We ended up here by chance as every other location on the street had over an hour wait. The staff welcomed us right in and were lucky enough to catch some awesome live music. A really cool Irish dude doing covers and some of his own material. The food was amazing. I had lobster tacos which were absolutely delectable. The wife had fish and chips. The bartender was very cool and attentive. Definitely recommend.

One of the best fish and chips we have had. Nicely prepared and presented. Fries were very tasty, beer battered fish was light and nicely cooked. Very reasonable prices. Mudslide was tasty. Great service. Not rushed at all.

Let me just start by saying it started out amazing. Good food, great staff. As soon as the live music started it went downhill so fast. We were sitting and eating our dinner. Next thing I knew random people were placing their belongings and drinks on our table. (Without so much as a thought to us sitting there) knocking drinks on my purse etc. My husbands chair was shoved multiple times, and we were essentially ousted as outsiders. Obviously a locals only welcomed sort of place. If visiting from out of town avoid at all costs.

We used to love coming here and we're glad to see it survived the past year so we made a reservation. In the reservation we asked to please be upstairs and they sat us right in front of the live music (music is good it's just so loud you can't really hear anything else). Bar- My drink was just syrup and I couldn't even finish it, the other people at the table got beers. They sat at the table with empty beers for over 25 minutes, everyone wanted another round but after 25 minutes we just got the check and went someplace else. Food- the apps were good but dinner was meh. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and there was no lobster in it, the plain Mac and cheese was okay but definitely not worth the price. Service- a little slow but very nice, I think if there was maybe one more person to help with some tables service could have been much faster. Covid policy- zero ventilation from what I could tell and only the waiter was wearing a mask. I personally would have left a few weeks ago
My husband and I went there for the first time Friday night. We sat in the bar downstairs. The food was delicious!!! I was a little skeptical about live music in a small space but I was pleasantly surprised when it started!! The food will definitely have us back next time we are in Portsmouth can't say enough!

Went to The Striker for a birthday dinner. Tuna three ways was amazing, as were the barbacoa and pulled pork tacos. Service was great and the food came out super quick. A larger draft list would be nice, but everything else was perfect. New management seems to have made a huge improvement! Will definitely be back when we're in the area again.
