I was headed to another restaurant when I found out it was unexpected closed for utility issues. I quickly found this store and stopped in. So glad I did! The staff were great and the food delicious. I got a tempeh sandwich, beet sesame salad and s’mores cookie. All vegan. All amazing! I add the sandwich and a little of the salad and was full. I’m looking forward to my leftover salad and cookie later. :)

I can't wait to go back. I'm horrible at baking. (I know practice makes perfect but not everyone has the time and money to experiment until they get it right.). This was the very first time since being vegan I've had a blueberry muffin and the first time I've had a choc chip cookie that tastes GOOD. I teared up a bit because being vegan is HARSH in this world. I am so thankful for this kitchen.
For memorial day weekend, I decided to visit Portsmouth,NH. Unfortunately I didn't find too many restaurants vegan friendly. However, for vegans and health food nuts, this is the place to be. I loved the selection of produce and products. The local treats and sandwiches are delicious. To all my vegan peeps, you must visit this place!

Haven't had better service than these guys in all of the east coast from northern MA to southern Maine. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty for making up some special-order cupcakes on very short notice. I would very highly recommend this place. PS: I completely ignored the review about somebody being "really dissappointed" that it's not a restaurant...which is not their fault about somebody's error thinking it was something it wasn't.

I thought this was a restaurant. Really disappointed that it's just a deli. The soup was luke warm and the salad bar was just ok. It's good that it was connected to a store but there was only stools to sit on at a window. The girl behind the counter was very sweet.

One of the best kept secrets in Portsmouth is Madeline's Truly Organic Kitchen, located in the back of the Portsmouth Health Food Store. There's limited seated (stools) next to the coffee station in front of the salad bar for eating in. I love it for take out for healthy meals for lunch and dinner. They have organic smoothies, juices, soups, and sandwiches all made fresh. The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. My favorites: The Green Supreme drink and the Vegan Cowgirl wrap. Oh and I also love their Seasame Tofu and their Kale Salads!
