Friday lunch with my lady and her Mom exceeded our expectations. First time there and felt like regulars.. Nunzio was exceptional at making us feel welcome. Definitely be back.

The Vongole seemed like the chopped clams came out of a tin and not the good kind with 5 fresh ones. It states, whole and chopped clams. The Caesar was fair. It was my first time at the Rosa. I hope they get rid of the canned clams or just put them in the chowder.

Was in last night for dinner. # of the 4 dishes were very good. The 4th was the Chicken broccoli pasta. The dish had little flavor, the Chicken had grill marks on it like it was the same chicken for the Cesar salad, bland as can be, no seasoning.Calamari was great and tender.Stay clear of the Chicken broccoli and you should be good.

First off as soon as you walk in you are greeted very Respectfully. We were in a 6 person group and everything we had was fantastic. Some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time. Pasta was made in house and fresh and the ficcocia bread was fresh and amazing. Will come here again for sure when visiting.

Nice seating outdoors in warm weather, helpful server, decent cocktails, then the food came. Overcooked chicken parm tasted like old oil, carbonara and alfredo were pudding, salad was drenched. If you go, have a drink and order the most basic possible meal.

Food was awesome! We ordered lasagna, short ribs, linguini cobornara, baked haddock and shrimp scampi. Nunzio or waiter was the perfect waiter. He was like having dinner and a show. What a wonderful entertainer.

The waiter was outstanding. The food was very good and the warm bread was perfect! We haven't been there in a long time and we thought it was time to go back. We were not disappointed! We will frequent this wonderful jewel a lot more often in the future. Lastly, the value was much better than we were used to. You don't have to spend a fortune to get great service, food and ambiance.

Wow, everything about our experience tonight was fantastic. We didn’t make a reservation (forgot it was a holiday weekend) but got two spots at the bar. The host at the front, I’m pretty sure whom was the manager, was very friendly and throughout the whole night was welcoming to everyone who came through the door. Marc, at the bar, greeted us quickly (despite busy) with menus and acted like he truly cared about putting a solid drink in front of us. He recommended some wine to me and also had my boyfriend taste a vermouth he made from scratch. He seemed very passionate about bartending and mixology. I was entertained though the night with the stories he’d tell us and surrounding guests. Food was just as great as the service. I got the chicken cannelloni and my boyfriend got a ravioli with chicken. Both were superb. Despite a busy night, service and food were above what we expected. Thanks Rosa staff!!! Can’t wait to come back.

I came here with a large group of friends for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Overall, everyone was generally satisfied with the experience, and we had excellent service. Later that evening, when speaking to someone who lived locally, I was told that the restaurant use to be a "more traditional" Italian restaurant, but the current owners of the restaurant are trying to "kick it up a notch." I saw some evidence of that, I feel they can do some more. Our table ordered wine with dinner. The specials, including featured wines, come on a smaller page given with the regular menu. All of the featured wines were more expensive, but they also have a nice variety of wines generally at lower prices on the regular menu and we enjoyed the one we ordered. What I found interesting is that someone else at our table ordered an single pour of the same wine, and we all noticed what a generous pour it was, clearly something of note when ordering wine here. I suspect the bread baskets (nice, dense, flavorful bread) are made in advance, because our first basket did not have enough for everyone at our table, but more bread was available on request. It is accompanied by a small ramekin of olive oil, but if you order house salads, you get decanters of oil and balsamic vinegar which can also be used for the bread. Dinners came out reasonably close together, typically all of one entree delivered at a time. My chicken and sausage cacciatore, while tasty, was not what I expected. Typically, a cacciatore is served either with a side of pasta, or on pasta, but this was mixed in with the pasta (which was a bit chewy). Also the sauce was unusually sweet, which led me to believe this was a somewhat generic sauce used for several entrees. Several people at my table ordered the short rib on polenta, and I was able to sample some. I thought the polenta was delicious, but I felt the short rib, while tender, lacked flavor. For me, The Rosa is one of those restaurants that I feel I will enjoy more after visiting a few times and finding just what items on the menu will appeal to me the most. I'd certainly return.

Yesterday was my first time having dinner at The Rosa, in Portsmouth, NH. I had the Pasta Carbonara and it was very very delicious. I recommend this restaurant and it's pasta. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was very nice. Tonight, I actually got take out from the Rosa of the same dish for my family to try. Very Good Meal tonight as well. I highly recommend. Thanks Katie

My boyfriend and I stopped in recently for dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful! It’s been really difficult to find great service matched with excellent food recently (since Covid, really) and The Rosa certainly did not disappoint. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for, a bit upscale but still cozy and comfortable (we sat at a high top by the bar). I felt that the pricing was super fair. We got the Italian wedding soup, chicken Marsala and bolognese, with cannoli for dessert; they were all spot on. Thank you for a great experience!!

Went to lunch on a Sunday. No wait.Ordered Cosmo, came to the table in a small martini glass three quarter filled. I Asked waitress to fill drink to top of glass ,since it was twelve dollars. The waitress comes back with the manager, places the drink down says by law can't fill glass to top. There was no choice to take it back, just a snide attitude. I've been to restaurants that have bigger glasses and leave the ice.Not impressed with customer service. They more or less lied to my face. What

Service and atmosphere were great. The waitress was on top of helping our large party. However, while plated well the Shrimp scampi I got and the chicken Marsala a member of my party got were pretty bland for Italian cooking and the prices we were paying.
