“Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. Parked on the street as the modest lot was already full. The restaurant has an upstairs level with nice views of the ocean and a downstairs level as well. Also, a full bar area. We enjoyed the senior plate of fish and chips and were very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food. I especially liked the coleslaw and tartar sauce. Prices are reasonable for being right on the coast, and service was okay. A wide variety of seafood choices are available, and there are clean restrooms for customers. Even a small gift shop. Overall, I would go back as I think this is a nice local joint.Parking: Not many spaces so you might have to park on the street.Kid-friendliness: Casual vibe means kids are welcome except in the bar.“

“Love it! The food was amazing, especially the ginger scallion shrimp burger. The staff were super friendly and they took care of everything that we needed. We also came with our service dog and we didn’t have any problems. I would recommend making a reservation, if not you just can walk right in.“

“Fantastic! The best shawarma we've ever had in a wrap! The dumplings and Cauli were totally spicy and added shrimp, delicious. The fried Mexican cheese was also delicious! Highly recommend, we're only in town for 2 days so we'll be back tomorrow!“

“I’m from the Boston area and was meeting a friend in Portsmouth for dinner. We picked Durbar Square and we’re definitely not disappointed. We had an absolutely fabulous meal there. The chicken chili was a delicious, and a different approach than any chili I’ve had before. The chicken was perfect cooked. The sauce was full of flavor. They also ask you to pick yours spice range from 1-10 so you can choose what suits you best. The owner, John, is totally engaged with his customers and if you want, can even demonstrate a yoga pose or 2 (which he is very good at). Just overall a great place to eat.“

“The very nice employee who put together our order was very cognizant of any allergen statements we made on our order and made sure to keep that in mind when we ordered the gf bun. But appearantly they have no vegan buns even for the bean patty (which is appearantly a vegan patty). The employee gets 5 stars for being so helpful, kind and aware for us. However it's frustrating that the seemingly vegan option has one thing non vegan and it isn't labeled as such for clarity (which is very easy to do) Especially since vegan food often isn't an allergen-centric food decision. The fact that there is no choice of vegan bun to accommodate a vegan patty seems extraordinarily lazy of the owner(s).Employee gets 5 starsLexies menu design gets 1 star“

“I've been on an oyster kick for a year now. Scouring the NE region and even down to NOLA for the most flavorful bipeds. The Franklin is a total gem. $2 Happy hour oysters were limited to the 3 of their 9 available oyster options from the raw bar. Basically, it is a large, medium, and small offering, which is a fair way to do business. They included a blueberry habanero hot sauce, which was pure fire in the best way.The local cheese appetizer was blackberry goat cheese and made an excellent dip for the Franklin fries!Blueberry bread pudding rounded out the perfect evening. 10/10 would recommend. Don't leave Portsmouth without stopping here.“

“This was our first time at Green Elephant and we can't wait to go back! Finding a restaurant with lots of vegan options is difficult, so when we discover one and it's great, we get excited! We went for lunch, getting there right when they opened and by the time we left an hour and change later, they were completely full. We had an app, the king oyster mushroom tempura, a noodle curry, and a stir fry. All were amazing. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We didn't get any drinks, but they had a really creative cocktail menu - we'll be back for dinner and drinks next time!“
“My husband and I attended a Get The Led Out show at the Ballroom. Ample parking and right on the beach, public bathrooms right across the street and plenty of places to eat all around. The entrance security was thorough and very polite and got the long line into the venue quickly. A short jaunt up a flight of stairs, a quick ticket scan and wristband and just WOW! The stage is up high and the room is VAST! I assume the first people in the doors knew there were tables to sit at throughout the concert as they were chocked full when we entered about 20 minutes before the show. There appeared to be upstairs viewing rooms too. My guess is they needed reservations or were private boxes. There are 2 sets of bathrooms at either end and many mini bars around the perimeter and several beer kiosks in the center. The lines moved quickly and everyone wore a smile and were very polite. There is an area to smoke out the back door and down multiple flights of stairs. The sound and lighting was fantastic and the experience was awesome. Wear comfy shoes!“

“This lovely restaurant is the kind of place that you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other momentous occasions. The prices are high, but so are the quality of the food, drinks, service, and surroundings. We celebrated our daughter's master's degree completion at the Library, and it was memorable from start to finish. All of our food was either good or great.Note: you have to go down a flight of stairs to access restrooms. Amanda was an excellent server. If you want a good red wine that doesn't break the bank (by itself, anyway), the Valpolicella from the Veneto region of Italy was stellar.“

“Foodies: Run, don’t walk, to feast on the specials here. Especially the Korean BBQ Bennie. Wow! What a sweet-and-savory homemade delight at this family run hidden gem, where we walked in today to the sweet sound of the owner playing ukulele at the counter. It’s old-school diner meets Hawaiian/Asian-Pacific perfection. Best blueberry pancake we’ve had in a while, too! Filled with fruit, crispy edges… a very fun changeup to our local breakfast routine.Parking: Around the back—with a convenient back door entryway“

“Great food and some unique combinations of ingredients. Spinach salad was excellent. Very tasty roasted garlic dressing. Had the stuffed sole special. Sauce was a lemon caper which over powered the delicate fish although my friend loved it. Tight seating so not much privacy between tables. We got there just before 5pm on a Thursday in March and place was almost full. They don't take reservations so go early.Parking: Small parking lot for restaurant. Street parking available“

“Finally placed a takeout order at Bob's having passed by it many times, and glad we tried it. Our order was ready on time as promised and was accurately put together. I tried a broiled quarter chicken with two sides (mac & cheese, sausage stuffing) and some corn bread. Everything seemed home made, hot and quite tasty. The stuffing really seemed home made, but the mac and cheese was a tad dry for my liking. The chicken was tender, moist and delicious. Like most food these days at any restaurant/supermarket, prices seemed a tad high. Portion sizes were generous however. I'll be back to try the chicken pot pie, which is one of my favorite comfort food dishes. Give Bob's a try! Sorry no photos as I dug in so quickly I forgot to snap first!“

“We selected Moxy for the Portsmouth restaurant week. Our table samples diverse offerings (except for the 4th course).Of the courses, the barramundi was a stand out, both beautiful and delicious, a wonderfully balanced spring plate. The service was attentive and prompt. We were not rushed and had time to complete each course before the next was brought out.I would love to return to sample the regular menu.“

“Staff is great! Food is excellent! I’ve been going here for breakfast and lunch for years even before they got their new building the owner takes pride in his trade and it shows with a thriving business and plenty of happy customers. I’ve read some of the does not recommend reviews and I just don’t believe that people would post non relevant info in a review. To the Airfield Cafe tea keep up the absolutely great work.“
“Very impressive. I stopped in here on a recent trip through Portsmouth just because I liked the name. Extremely well made beers, with authentic German styles, something that always makes me happy. Had an excellent bratwurst to go along, and it seemed to have a great, friendly local following on a weekday afternoon. I'll certainly be back on my next trip in the area.“

“Great dinner celebrating Mother's Day. All the entrees were delicious. The drink menu is very creative. The only minor negative is that the Meze Plate is priced at $34 and did not include a great selection or quantity, and overpriced. Overall a great place to celebrate any special occasion or just a night out!“

“Freshest, most flavorful and generous lobster rolls I've ever had!! Omg they were amazing...and their fish chowder and homemade desserts are awesome too. We loved it so much we came back twice during our trip. Great family owned atmosphere with killer views right on the Piscataqua River. The first visit I got their House Special which is a lobster roll with a cup of chowder. The lobster rolls come with either butter or mayonnaise - or both which is how my server preferred it. The first time I chose just butter and it was amazing but the second visit I took my servers advice and tried it with both and ooooohhhh boy what a treat!! I know it's calorie overload but wow was it heaven haha!! You also get a choice of either fish chowder or clam chowder and I went with the fish chowder and it was also incredible - huge chunks of fish and nice veggies - so savory and delicious- a true comfort food lunch! The second visit we tried their lobster stew and it was also great but I loved their fish chowder the most. We also tried several desserts over our visits - all homemade - blueberry pie, apple pie, and a whoopie pie - all excellent!! According to their website, they grow the blueberries and all sorts of veggies like lettuce and tomato that they use - and they get their lobster and fish right off the docks nearby! How cool is that?? It's a family owned business with three generations working still - vibe is cozy and so welcoming. They seem to only have patio seating which fills up fast - this is definitely not a secret spot haha! The views are fabulous and prices are what you'd expect for the quality and type of food with generous portions. Geno's has gone onto my permanent list of must visit places when I visit New England!! Highly recommend!!“

“Good beer, which is obviously the idea, but i cannot get away from the feeling of it being a Starbucks style transaction. you cant talk to someone with the pure love of beer when your making a selection, no server to discuss the product. the operation is quite marvelous to see, obviously setup very well for large distribution, but the seating inside, while bright and sunny, doesn't give you a lot of room to even move about, not relax. very tight quarters.my wife and i went outside to the outside seating, which at night must be gorgeous id imagine! much more relaxed atmosphere outside.they made two incredible sours, and their IPA is great, so for those who aren't an IPA fan, they have an offering for you, but its not a huge variety on tap. They have some of their canned options available, but who goes to a live taproom style breweries for canned flats!?“

“Had an amazing meal here while on vacation in Hampton Beach. Our server Julie was amazing, kind, and made us feel like family! The restaurant itself is quaint and homey- feels like you’re eating in your grandma’s kitchen. The food was phenomenal, probably the best Italian meal I’ve had in a long time- not to mention the very reasonable prices. We got two drinks, an appetizer, two meals and an extra side and the bill was below $70 (would’ve paid more if they asked!). This is a must for anyone visiting the Hampton area. If we didn’t live 4 hours away we’d be here once a week. Overall a great spot and best part of our short vacation.“
“Good atmosphere, typical brewery vibe. Food is good for the price. I got a Reuben and loved it. The beers are top notch. I'd recommend trip or quad clip if you're into IPAs. The wait staff was 10 out of 10. There was a mix up with our order and they made it right. Overall great experience, would recommend going here for a cheeky Sunday funday or hanging out with people you enjoy talking to (because you can actually hear them). 5 stars!“

“I loved everything about Row 34 from the warm welcome by the host, till I walked Out the door with my delicious doggy bag. Grady, whose attentiveness and sweet demeanor evade the visit a pleasant one from the start, to the delightful selection of dishes, every aspect of my meal was a culinary delight.Dining solo can sometimes be a little daunting or awkward, however, the host made me feel right at home right away. After conversing with Grady about the Four Agreements, we decided the best plan of action was to start with the biscuit, with honey and rosemary infused butter…next level scrumptious. Order it, do not hesitate. Next came the fresh oysters, fresh and perfectly presented, yum.For my main course, the mussels were a highlight, tender and flavorful, swimming in a broth that begged to be savored with every dunk of crusty bread. And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, the butterscotch pudding arrived, a creamy indulgence that left me longing for just one more spoonful, and remembering why butterscotch pudding was a childhood favorite.Overall, my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a destination where food, ambiance, and hospitality converge to create a truly memorable evening.“

“This is better than the usual Indian dive. The food is tasty, filling and not expensive. But the menu doesn’t deliver what it promises. The “roti” is identical to the naan. The “south Indian” spices are identical to the other curry spices. If this place served Masala Dosas, and made an effort to serve South Indian dishes, I’d give five stars.“

“Ordered delivery via one of the apps. I meant to order from a closer location but got Portsmouth. Delivery time was extended 3 times. My fault for living more than 5 miles from the place. The tenders were fantastic. Absolutely delicious. Could use more sauce but were fine just as they were. When I Airfried the leftovers they were also great. I got onion rings. Very greasy. Thick. Very greasy. Probably wouldn't get them again. I got fries. Cold by the time I got them. Looked under cooked. Basically cold raw limp potatoes Order the tenders-you won't go wrong.“

“This is a very nice cafe/restaurant in downtown Portsmouth. One thing they need to put more effort into is cleaning the table tops. Was there one morning a couple weeks ago, and the table had food debris on it and major sticky spots. We were there pretty early, so I'm assuming it was from the night before. We moved to another table and there were some food crumbs on it, but nothing sticky. Again, great place--but cleanliness is next to Godliness--and the rest of the place seems very clean and the food is fine.“

“A rock solid place for seafood. I had haddock and scallops. Scallops were sweet, haddock was flaky, both fried but with a very light breading and not greasy at all. My wife had fried lobster tails and she really liked them. They have a full bar, she had a rum punch she liked. I recommend this place to everyone.“
