Let me preface by saying I passed over Common Man Hooksett rest area, so I could get some good local coffee from a local coffee shop I've been wanting to try. Stopped @ 810am this morning, Wednesday April 3rd. 2 employees, no customers. Ordered half decaf, half dark roast. Was told you don't have dark roast, only light and medium. Okay, I'll have half decaf half medium. Was told no decaf, only decaf espresso. Okay, half decaf espresso, half medium. "Well, I can do espresso shots and fill the rest up with regular. Sooo, what do want to do with that...?" I tell her I don't really understand what she's talking about. I don't know what that means. "I can make espresso with decaf beans" I tell her sure, half decaf espresso half medium. (not sure why you have decaf beans but don't make decaf but whatever). I was then told something about an Americano and medium and again, I tell her I don't know what that means. At this point I'm completely over it and I just want to leave and I'm feeling kind of stupid that I don't know boutique coffee terminology so I just give up and tell them I just want a full mug of medium and I'll drink it slower so my heart doesn't explode ?. She then looks at my travel mug that I brought with me and says "this is a 20oz mug, do you want it filled?" to which I reply yes and the cashier rings me up for... get ready... FOUR DOLLARS AND EIGHTY EIGHT CENTS for a coffee that I didn't even want but I took, just so I could stop feeling like a pain for ordering something that you don't have. The tip screen comes up and I'm feeling really frustrated so the tip screen looks like a GIANT NEON SIGN AS BIG AS THE SKY and I work in food service and for some reason I feel bad that I wanted something that they didn't have and I feel guilty that I didn't understand the language of coffee so of course I pushed the 2 dollar tip button and BOOM. Just like that I've paid SEVEN DOLLARS for a coffee I didn't even want. Then I got outside and poured in my own Oat creamer which works fine with both of my top 2 home coffee choices, Ragged Coffee Company and Vermont Coffee Company Organic, and it curdles immediately which means the brewed coffee is much too acidic. Maybe the worst retail food experience I've ever had, at least in memory. To be fair, both the employees were nice. Like, they weren't rude or anything, just the whole coffee situation. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

$1.25 upcharge per drink for non-dairy milk option. Drinks were great but the upcharge is price gouging.

I was really craving a Chi-Tea Matcha Latte, and they didn't have one on the menu, the barista made it for me with one of their fresh teas. It was absolutely lovely, and not overly sweet, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm so grateful! Thank You.

I tried Crumb to Mama pastries today for the very first time !! I had never been to the Cafe and today I had two that I enjoyed home. These scones were by and large the best scones I had ever had! They were mixed berry scones and so fresh that they broke apart on the plate. There is no question that I will have more Of the crumb to mama pastries at Cafe 1 East! Magnificent , and the service was excellent and welcoming.

The coffee is top notch - they really take their brewing seriously. There’s also an amazing selection of teas. The breakfast sandwiches are so generously portioned and delicious - and available gluten free! Also the staff are some of the nicest cafe staff I’ve met.Dietary restrictions: Amazing options if you’re gluten free. I have celiac and have had so many GF baked goods in my life and cafe one East’s gluten free baked goods are some of the absolute best I’ve ever had.

Can't imagine giving this place anything less than 5 stars. Everything they serve they knock out of the park. Best cafe in the area doesn't mean much since there aren't a lot of options, but this place is so much more than that. I would put them up against any cafe in the state, they really know how to serve coffee. I'm a huge fan and spend way too much money here.

Everything is very sweet unless you’re getting black coffee or tea. Charming ambiance to the place. Coffee is good. Tea selection is great. Pastries are overly sweet and so are the lattes have asked a few times to moderate the sweetness but lattes always come out the same with high sweetness.
