I finally got a chance to try some of the food from Old School. It was take out so I really can't comment on the decor and ambiance. Although, when I did pick up the found I did find it a very typical of American bar and grill-type establishments. I tried the fish and chips but learned it is not necessarily a guarantee you will get chips with your fish! Over the phone, I ordered fish and chips and was told that it comes with two sides. That surprised me a bit so I asked what they were and ordered string beans as the rest of the sides did not appeal to me. I asked if I could get two as I did not like any of the others and since I was getting chips, certainly did not want more potatoes. When I arrived home, to my surprise - no chips! I called the restaurant and the manager explained how it works. If you want chips you need to request them as side. She offered to credit me a portion of the cost and I am still waiting (been about a month) :(

The food was really good. They had a decent beer list with a few good craft beers. The restaurant was busy and it's a little tight depending on where you're sitting. Can be pretty loud in the restaurant.

I have been 3 times and each time the food and service has been great and the atmosphere feels homey.There are not a lot of options in this general area so VERY happy that it's a nice place. Looking forward to better weather to sit outside while dining. Will be back next week.BTY, try the fries if you want to indulge a little.One wish, soup. Only chowder is offered.

Finally got to visit Old school for the first time Saturday night and we were very happy. It was at about 6:30 at prime dinner time rush, but the wait wasn't bad and the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The decor and ambience of the place is very nice with the Christmas lights on the ceiling, and eye pleasing decor. Love the cozy looking booths. (We'll try next!) We took first available seating and ended up at a table in the back corner in the bar area. It was louder than usual, but to be expected for the type atmosphere. Nothing obnoxious. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, considering a place was packed. I ordered the fried haddock with green beans and garlic, and the vegetable of the day which was excellent and large portions. I could barely finish it, and had some to take home. The husband got fish tacos and a side of garlic fries and chocolate lava cake for dessert. The chocolate martinis were great and my husband enjoyed his Maine lunch beer. Overall everything was excellent and we would definitely be back!

Picked this place because i herd it was fantastic. The waitress was very kind very cute. The clam chowder is outstanding. My prime rib cold, raw, 3 times. The cook should be fired. The manager very nice. I couldn’t eat after my prime rib dinner never happened. Prime rib 22 ouces, I don’t get it.
