We wanted to try something new for Easter dinner while visiting our son in Ocean Grove. What an amazing meal we had here. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bread was hot and crispy and each entree was perfectly prepared. We got a table by the window and enjoyed the view of the street watching people walk by. The restaurant was empty so our service was absolutely amazing! I can not wait to come back and enjoy another meal soon.

I love the food at Belmonte’s It’s my go to Italian restaurant in Asbury. I hope this review is read by its owners for improvement. I’ve been here many times. When I was making the reservation I read the recent google reviews about the service and it did not reflect my past experiences. Sadly, after I booked, I did have a similar experience. It was only two of us dining. The food remains excellent. But the wait staff needs better training. Our order was taken in a timely matter but it was 30 minutes before our drinks of diet sodas were delivered and only because we finally said something (water was served when the order was taken). There were three tables who came in after us who were eating their entrees before we got our appetizer. (They said the fryer was broken so there were no fried options available like Calamari but a review of 4 months ago said the same thing…) . We couldn’t get our servers attention, she never stopped by to check up on us. When we were able to finally get a bussers attention to ask him to get our server, she acted as if we were requestions something extra. . We finally got our appetizer, 45 minutes after the order was taken. I hate to be that person who asks about our food BUT again, after the appetizer, there was another 20 minute wait, we HAD to ask for our entrees. Normally, if a restaurant is busy, understandable. But it was NOT at its busiest, there were empty tables and three tables that came in after us were on their way out before we got our entrees. The worst part was that there was NO care from our server. No checking up on us. No explanation for the delays. No apologies. I’m in the service industry. We all make mistakes but I make sure my customer knows Im very apologetic. There was no one there who seemed in a supervisory position to talk to hence my review. We still tipped 20% but it was not an earned 20%. I was surprised to see there were tables empty on a Thursday, Now Im not so surprised. Considering the reviews from past customers and my own experience, the restaurant needs a manager. IYou don’t want to lose your non seasonal patrons..

We used to love coming here. The last few visits have been OK but tonight was disappointing. Made a reservation and we were sat by the kitchen at a table that was too small and in folding chairs. The server did move us to a better table thankfully, Ordered clams as an appetizer and they smelled fishy. Dinner entrees were delicious but our server never came to check on us. Had to ask for water, bread and Parmesan cheese constantly. Won’t be coming back anytime soon

This place is very bad, the chicken taste like it's been sitting in the freezer for months. The wait is terribly long even when the place is empty. I'm Very disappointed in the service and the cooks seemed to be screwing off. Now I know why they do half off pasta...

Worst service I have ever seen. Insane wait time for no reason. Lie about wait time on to go orders and terrible customer service. Wouldn't recommend for how average the food is

We eat here failry regularly and the last 2 visits have been disappointing. Both times they were out of fried calamari, stuffed rigatoni and several other regular items. Service was lacking and below par. Didn't see the owner there either time.

Apps...had artichokes, mussels, antipasto salad, & clams casino. Kitchen fryer was broken so no delicious fried food. Had the cappillini special with shrimp, plum tomatoes, spinach, & shrimp. Shrimp was way overcooked and only 4 small shrimp but sauce was delicious.

I'm sorry to say but our experience here was very disappointing. We visited on a busy weekend evening following the annual Zombie Walk so the entire street was buzzing with people and each establishment was busy. When we saw how packed Belmontes was we assumed they must be really good and from the sidewalk the food smelled delicious. Sadly, it had no flavor. Everything was bland. The chicken parm was tough, overcooked and flavorless. Service was unattentive. With the plethora of options for Italian dining along the shore there is no reason to ever give Belmontes another try.

Went to Belmontes for dinner and was very disappointed. No soft drinks. No calamari. Rancid salami in our antipasta. Mediocre pasta. 10/10 do not recommend. Save yourself the time and toilet paper. Yuck!

Another really good meal. Everything comes out really hot, freshly made from the open kitchen. Service is terrific with the server checking on us as well as all the wait staff covering all the tables. Portions are generous. Hostess was friendly and attentive.

We went on a Monday half off pasta night. Regular prices are mid 20s to 30 plus a plate. well worth half off night. to me the atmosphere decor is fading and ugly if you care about that. service was good. food was like I said great for half price. the bathroom was not clean. looking up at the ceiling several tiles were water stained. None of this matters if paying 15, 16 dollars a plate . but I think they might be struggling. hope not.

It appears by reading other reviews, it's becoming a regular practice of this restaurant to accept a reservation then hang a sign on the door saying "sorry closed". It happened to us last night 10/19. Not good business practice.
