A day at the beach is always an excuse to Cuban Cafe which I consider one of the best Cuban restaurants that I've been to north of Miami. Giant cuban sandwiches, you should only get half, but you will want to eat more. The smooths are more an air to agua fresca, made with fresh fruit and best with ice only. I stopped here today for a quick service lunch. The inside is standing room only for ordering/paying, however there are serval tables outside for dining. The combo of authentic Cuban food, salsa music and dining al fresco really makes you feel like your dining in the islands.We ordered the Cuban sandwich and pernil w/ rice and beans and both meals were excellent. Housed in an old diner-style building across from busy intersection by the train tracks, just a few blocks away from the shoreline, this little restaurant packs serious Havana flavors! We tried the croquettes, papa rellenos (fried mashed potato balls), beef stew (with plantains), fried pork chops, solid Cuban burger, super finger-lickin' ribs, and guayaba/passion fruit juice.
