No stars. Went there on Sunday for coffee and pancakes. We ordered iced coffee and received hot coffee with a few ice cubes in it, we asked for milk and ten minutes later that young girl waiting on us comes back. We order pancakes and she hands us our plates, asks if we want butter and we say yes and if we could also have syrup?? Ten minutes later.. nothing. Our pancakes are cold, so we go up and ask for the syrup again and a few minutes later it comes out. She doesn't apologize, nothing. It wasn't even busy, there were 5 tables total with 3 teenage girl servers... pretty sure that is more than manageable. We decide not to eat our freezing cold pancakes, I ask the teenage waitress to speak to the manager and she says that she is! Not apologetic, just rude and laughing and rolling her eyes. I ask to speak to the owner and she's not in of course, I ask for a phone number and she moves some Napkins around and says "oh I used to have a card guess not anymore". I've worked in many restaurants, not sure how someone under 18 gets a manager position... especially with no customer service understanding. I won't ever be going back here based on the pure disrespect. Horrible experience.

Tried out for breakfast. The food was good but the bacon did come out cold. Prices also seem high for the portions you get.Maybe give a larger portion of home fries and it would seem better, or serve on a smaller plate so it doesn't look like there isn't much on the plate?Would definitely try again and would also like to see what lunch is like. New owners so worth it to check out imoParking: On first Ave so you'll need to park on the street or find a lot and walk

Amazing potato and leek soup and both the corned beef special and Mexican salad. Really sweet staff, pretty/clean decor and great, attentive service. Highly recommend-so thrilled to have a diner again!

New owners, clean and fresh, aptly priced, good breakfast. Worth giving it a try so they can find their niche among a competitive breakfast/lunch variety of town eateries.

New owners have poured care into this space and it shows. Delicious avocado toast served with really fresh ripe fruits and breakfast potatoes. Aptly-priced. Clean, bright, uncluttered decor. Music can add to ambiance. Limited menu which is OK; they aren't trying to be "everything for everyone" (perhaps previous owner's demise) so "diner" in their title doesn't ring Jersey-true. Seems like they're still trying to find their niche in a town with some really excellent breakfast-lunch options. Will definitely be back for lunch and looking forward to seeing them find their sweet spot!

Such a special place for us. We love the food, the service, and yes even made some friends there this summer.

Kind of a "run of the mill" diner. Nothing stands out about it. The bathroom needs some work. It always has a smell to it. The food is ok but the prices for the food they serve is a bit much. If there's no diners open I guess this will do in a pinch.

I want to first say the Towne Diner is not the typical diner, the food is served fresh and delicious. Audrey is not only friendly she makes sure you enjoy what you order. ? the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Try the mozzarella sticks! Thank you Audrey!

The WORST breakfast experience ever! Had to get own menu, waited fifteen minutes for service, had to ask for silverware, long wait for food and then another long wait for toast that wasn’t on plate. Oh yes…I had to ask again if toast was ready as we saw if sitting there! And the toast was burnt! Ughhhhhh!!!

We were walking in downtown Highlands and thought we’d stop here for a nice Sunday morning breakfast. We were instructed by the hostess upon entering to grab a clean table and someone would be right with us. 15 mins later and being passed by numerous times by multiple servers, we felt we may have been invisible. We therefore had to go to the front and help ourselves to menus. 10 more mins and finally someone asked if we were being helped. Ok. So put in order….waited another half hour or more to finally receive our food. At that, they delivered my plate without my toast. How basic is that? Then was told the toast was coming right out. I watched as my toast sat for about 5 mins….and then had to ask my server again. Surprise….it was burnt black! Same happened to the couple next to us. It wasn’t a very large place, appeared very sufficiently staffed, and they were only dealing with breakfast food. How hard can that be. This place was wayyyy off their game. One of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had. And to top it all off, when we asked for our check, they had no idea what we ordered. We had to retell them our order so they could give us a check. Pathetic! This is a one and done place!!!

We love this little gem located in the heart of our favorite downtown. We are there practically every weekend for breakfast. Favorites include: Spanish Burrito, Irish Eggs Benedict, Pancakes and just about anything else ordered. Best corned beef has around and the young waitress there every weekend is a highlight if dining there. She’s friendly, always upbeat snd gets to know her customer. Wonderful food, people and atmosphere.

Walked in to this place to eat lunch with my daughter, seemed nice but after sitting down for approximately 10 min. We were forced to ask for a menu and then after not getting a menu, my daughter got us 2 menus. A woman took half our order and after sitting another 10 min waiting for our 2 waters and for the woman to return to take our orders, we saw another individual come in and was immediately served coffee and food. We waited another few min, paid for what we ordered and left without eating. This place was absolutely abysmal and i have never experienced such poor customer service, and there were only 3 other tables in the whole place and two of them had already been served.

I have ordered out here lots of time. They are always running out of stuff and when you order something they ran out of they just make something like it some times not even close. They don’t call you to ask you if you want to change it or even say to you that they are out of it. They don’t Evan say anything when you pick it up. When you get home it is always a surprise to see what is in your box. They also forget to put stuff in there that you paid for. When the food is cooked right with what’s supposed to be in there it really good .
