“During my commute back from New Brunswick on April 1st, I stopped by White Rose Hamburgers for a meal, despite the day’s drizzle. As I arrived around 10:30 AM, the diner was barely busy. The parking lot had only a couple cars: If I had driven here then would have been ample space. From the outside, the place looked considerably plain, for a Manno-produced dining car (it was likely bricked with stucco)---the interior, in which clean stools and countertops lined the walls, was not much different, though there was a plethora of mid-late 1900s memorabilia for decoration. As soon I walked in, the two staff manning the counter and grill asked what I wanted; there were many regulars who already knew, though I wasn't one of them.I ordered a large coffee, Cali cheeseburger, and fries, which cost ~$15. I took a seat at the main counter (only 2 seats there), and only a couple minutes afterward was my meal ready. The coffee was standard, but the burger and fries are to die for---this burger is the type that melts beautifully. The meat synthesizes with the rest of the ingredients to create a harmonious sensation of flavor with each bite, equally juicy and savory in tandem with sour sweetness. The fries were especially crispy, with an audible crunch in each bite; their only downside was the amount of salt I put on them. Though pricy, it is impossible to go wrong with burger and fries at White Rose.“

The chopped cheese was awesome, fully loaded texture and flavor bomb on a toasted Italian roll. It took only about 5 minutes to make. The chicken was seasoned nice and was super juicy on the inside yet golden crispy on the outside. I was stoked to try the fries next because there was enough for a family and golden in color. Sadly they were soggy, not fried nearly as long as they should have been and lacked salt. I ate just a few both with and without ketchup and tossed them. This small trendy looking corner store had a couple display cases with mainly fried chicken and desserts offered as grab-n-go. There were 2 thin tables to stand at and eat if desired and quiet with one chef and one cashier. Friendly staff though with great recommendations.Parking: Street parking already taken. “Kind of lived at the terrific White Castle restaurant on Route 22 in Union, NJ for 4-5 days during the summer of 09. Was between places to live and myself and my two trusty dogs would pull into the White Castle around ten or eleven at night, and I would get a cup of the fabulous White Castle coffee for myself and a couple of White Castles for my two traveling companions, and we would find a spot in the rear of the parking lot, and that was our stay for the night. Slept intermittently off and on, and the next morning we would be on our way to the public library on Morris Avenue in Union, NJ to hit craigslist on the computer to find our next domicile. Finally found a place in Milford, Pa across the Delaware River. A policeman would usually ride through the White Castle parking lot at night at about 2-3 o'clock in the morning. Usually tried to alternate parking spaces, but we were never questioned. I suppose the policeman thought we were really good customers, ha. Ahh . . . how I wish those dear days were back. For all of you fuddy duddies, sitting home, being bored, being a couch potato in the living room of your paid-off mortgage, suburban home, you ought to give it a try. There is nothing quite like the gypsy life, and I'll forever be grateful and a faithful customer to White Castle for being a part of it. As Bob Hope used to say, "Thanks for the Memories" . . . .“

Great service even when busy. But he didn’t need to because Luis came in and with a smile asked me what he could get for.
