Love this place, the vodka sauce is delicious and the chicken soup recipe hasn't changed in 30 years. I know this because when my mother was pregnant with me 30 years ago, all she wanted was soup from Buon Appétito, and bryers strawberry ice cream. I was made with this soup. I have been eating the food from here for my entire life. Every time I got a cold, when I got my tonsils out, and when I need a bit of soul healing this chicken soup does it all. Add a teaspoon of Parmesan cheese before you serve it and it'll change your life.

Purchased a ham and salami sandwich with fresh mozzarella and was very disappointed in the end product. Two thinly sliced pieces of mozzarella loads of ham, and barely any salami. The ham is too salty, seems like they're using a different brand. This place was better with the old owners. Will never go back again. Not worth the money at all. Also: tried to call them to share my feedback and they put me on hold and then hung up.

One of those neighborhood spots that you just have to know. Fantastic drinks and on weeknights they have an amazing buffet for dinner, so you know I had to try it out!I had the caramel apple martini which was so delicious and a full buffet from pasta salad to meatballs to eggplant rollintini, You definitely get your moneys worth with this all you can eat buffet! The food is incredible I especially love the penne vodka, and for dessert I had the ricotta cheesecake with a spiked hot chocolate oh my god so delicious if you're in the Bayonne area please stop by!

Came here on a busy afternoon. Place is kind of small since there was a party going on. I ordered pizza, penne vodka, and a side of meat ball with marina sauce.The pizza was delicious and I loved how they gave us a fresh side of Parmesan cheese. It will be a good size to share for 2-3 people.The penne vodka pasta was my favorite. The flavor is so rich and creamy. Every bite I took it was just so delicious. I absolutely loved the penne vodka pasta.The meat balls with marina sauce was also really good, but my only problem is. Is that when I bite into the meatballs it was warm/ cold. I would prefer if it was hotter. Overall, nice place for a quick lunch/ dinner. Great food. Will come back. Employees are nice and came to check up on me frequently.

The food here is completely inconsistent and all over the place. One visit and the pizza was very nice and well made, another time the pizza was completely inedible and some of the worst I've ever seen anywhere. It was made by someone who had no idea of how to make pizza. Sometimes the heros are great with lots of meat and nice bread (for New Jersey that is) and another time the Italian bread is tasteless, horrible quality and the hero was tiny with very little on it. It's been a total roll of the dice when eating here lately. I have had very nice omelets here that well made along with excellent home fries and others that have been completely poorly made to the point of not even looking anything like an omelet! Paper thin, flat, dead and tasteless. On my most recent visit this past Saturday, the home fries were raw, sitting in a puddle of liquid grease on the plate and tasteless. The people who own this place should really get their s*** together because they are completely unprofessional in their ability to manage a restaurant. Their so-called cooks apparently have no idea what they are doing. I hate to be this critical toward a place I have enjoyed over the years but I have experienced all of these absolutely ridiculous and completely avoidable problems at Buon Appetito over the last year or so.

Had a bagel! Super fresh and big and fluffy. It was a sesame bagel with cream cheese for 2.50. Good price and there was plenty of cream cheese on it but not too too much. Very satisfying!

I have never eaten in the restaurant, only takeout. The takeout is hit or miss. The last time I had it it was a miss but before I lived for their pepperoni pizza.

They had a great $25 lunch special, 5 course meal for restaurant week but we chose to order from main menu anyway. Everything was absolutely delicious! The portions are generous and the service is fantastic. My only complaint would be the constant rock, heavy metal, punk... whatever type of music was playing was not fitting for the relaxing and romantic lunch we wanted. We chose not to say anything but I really rather not hear that music ever again much less when having a nice relaxing meal.

Wonderful experience at Buon Appetito! I haven't visited since they remodeled the place. Not that much is different beside the color scheme but it does have a cleaner look now. We made reservations in advance for our party of 6 on a Thursday evening and we were the only ones there at the time! Our party was seated quickly and the waiter was very nice and welcoming (funny too)! We were served bread immediately and he took our drink orders. The table mostly had water. Then we took our food orders. We all ordered pasta (Chicken Parm with linguini, Spaghetti and meatball, Chicken Marsala). We all really enjoyed it. Flavorful and delicious as usual. I think the best dish was the Spaghetti and meatball though. This is for sure a great place to visit with family and groups if you want to have all kinds of Italian dishes. For dessert I really wanted the Chocolate Lava Cake and it did not disappoint! It is a big serving imo so definitely have another person sharing with you. We also found out that they have karaoke night every Thursday (around 8:30 I believe) so we stuck around for that. More people started coming in. The people singing were pretty good and one guy even sounded like Neil Diamond! We had to keep the party going and order some drinks. We ordered a vodka drink, rumchata with fireball and a pitcher of peach schnapps sangria. The bartender was also really nice and funny. Drinks were great. Overall we had an awesome time. We could not stay for karaoke that long but we will next time!

My partner and I stopped by one of my dad's favorite places during my latest visit to Bayonne. Friendly staff greeted us on the deli side as we walked in. Overwhelmed by so many delicious choices, we picked some focaccia sandwiches to eat before continuing our east coast odyssey. Sandwiches arrived plated and piled with the finest fixins. Had to take half to go. If you're in the mood for a great Italian deli sandwich, this is the place.

I ordered the following: Margarita pizza Tricolor salad Calamari Baked lasagna Total $70.00 Pros: generous portions, mediocre service Cons: Flavorless food, server inattention to food readiness And I'm actually pretty upset with the food here I was expecting somewhat of a better experience based on the review rating I wish I would've read all of the reviews before coming here then I would have been more cautious when ordering items that did not taste good at all ! I had ordered a personal Margherita pizza pan with 5 dried up basil leaves which was very bland did not taste like authentic Italian at all -- total waste (but edible waste) Of $12.00!! I also ordered the calamari (came with a ton of fried calamari, minimal to no parsley that was thinly spread out on the plate, served with one lemon wedge which was not enough for such a large plate of bland fried calamari absent of any seasoning, no red peppers or green peppers, just marinara sauce (not fresh) tasted like it was marinara sauce straight from a bottle. The tri color salad was the most disappointing it came with a ton of arugula enough to feed a horse without any fresh strawberries like in these photos someone posted on here (instead of fresh strawberries it was served with a side of canned strawberry purée which was the dressing as well), candied walnuts and dried cranberry from a can that can be purchased at any local stop and shop, minimal to no radish, the Endives were sparse (not even sure if I tasted any), if there was it was definitely not fresh and tasted like paper!!! The arugula leaves definitely overpowered the salad, all I could taste was leaves. So disappointed !! Last but not least my lasagna came out at the very end of my meal which was also disappointing because it tasted like cafeteria-style frozen lasagna, ABSOLUTELY NO flavor, no taste, no seasoning whatsoever, and no garnish on top. No fresh garlic ughhhh, little to no meat, I'm sorry to say but I would never return here so disappointed in my meal today and I can't believe I spent $70 on this!! Still tipped the waiter out of courtesy but left in a very salty mood never had this much disappointment in any meal in my life that I had higher expectations for! Guys eat with caution, after eating the margarita pizza enthusiasm in taking pictures of the rest of my meal when it came out. Needless to say, I wrapped the lasagna up and decided to throw it away completely

Not at all!! I was in the babae waiting for someone to take my order for takeout. One server stated that he will be right back. Suddenly he sees his friends and then just went straight to them and forgot that I was waiting. I see another female worker preparing shots. She said she would come back but never did. Not one came to ask if I needed help. This place was endorsed to me by a friend from Bayonne but it is not true. I was there 10/15 at 7:30 p. Whoever the workers you have this day should learn customer service. The one who just entertained his friends is the heavy set guy with a pony tail and the girl who was preparing the shot was the blonde girl. I understand being busy but when you promise to come back.. make sure you come back.
