My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in LBI and were scouring where to eat on a quiet February night. A Yelp search led us to the Delaware Avenue oyster house. When we walked in you would have thought it was the middle of summer because this place was hoppin! Always a great sign if you ask me. We waited about ten minutes for a table. This restaurant is mostly just a large bar with a few tables near the windows. It's really cozy and has a fun vibe. Everyone was immersed in conversation and looked like they were having a great time. They have a really great menu with plenty of variety. We started with the fish tacos and the crab fried rice. As I write this I'm still dreaming of this crab fried rice....it was THAT good. The couple next to us referred to it as crack fried rice and I can totally see why. So much flavor and a nice amount of crab!! We then finished up with a pizza as true NJ residents do. It was thin and crispy and perfect. I can't wait to come back in the summer! They seem to do some nice happy hour specials so I'm looking forward to giving them a try!

Very disappointed! To start with, there's more room behind the bar than there is between the bar stools and the tables they have set up, likely a code violation! As for the food, the market scallops (6 quarter size scallops served with greens and what can only be described as canned shiitake mushrooms) for $45 is outrageousNext was the hanger steak The steak was not seasoned and the french fries were overseasoned. The only thing properly seasoned on the plate was the arugula. The only way to eat the steak was to wrap it around a french fry then both were seasoned.

Everything was amazing. Drinks were strong and food was so flavorful and worth the wait and price. What a great find. Would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent clam chowder, little on spicy side which I loved. Shrimp and toast also really gooooood. Fun place, great atmosphere, highly recommended Of course! Great service

Great place! My bf's family owns a house a few blocks away so Delaware Ave is where we go on our beach date nights all year round. Start with some Delaware Bay oysters (or any other kind) that are shucked right there near the kitchen, follow by a main (I love the fried chicken sandwich or fried octopus) and finish off with some whipped ricotta. The service is always great and if you go often enough, the guys at the bar recognize you, which is always a nice thing in my book. The drinks are always solid, whether you go with a cocktail or a nice glass of white. Del Ave gets busy on summer nights so either go on the earlier side or expect to put your name down and wait. Either way, it's worth it!

Our friends took us here for the first time last night. What a great experience. It's small inside but packed with awesome food and a friendly staff. Great drinks, happy hour and ice cold oysters. Everything was delicious and we had a really nice evening. Looking forward to going back!

First of all, thanks for being open daily throughout the off-season. To maintain the hours and serve some wonderful food, is amazing! So my wife and I stopped at the Oyster House for a pre-Valentine's Day dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. We each enjoyed a terrific cocktail. We shared Delaware Bay Oysters and a smoked oyster tin for appetizers. The latter was a bit of an experiment and it turned out well. Very unique, smoky flavor, but very good with the toast points and arugula salad. My wife followed with a beet salad with shrimp and fried feta and I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos - excellent. Ambience is good, with high top tables and the staff was super friendly. THANKS!

Disappointing evening. We live down the street and frequent the DAOH often and always enjoy the place. Last night three of us went for dinner. We might have been a bit loud but certainly not over the top. A bartender named Thea, who I had never seen before, asked us to leave after our appetizers because she was offended. We are all homeowners on LBI and in the 60 year old range and never been asked to leave an establishment on LBI in our lifetimes. Very disappointing.

Delicious food. Great beer selection. Small and can get crowded, so arrive early or plan on waiting. Well worth the wait.

Waited for the waitress for over 30 minutes to take our order. They were more concerned with taking shots and talking to each other opposed to taking care of guests. Will not return.

Well, unfortunately, I can't say anything about the food because we left due to the rudeness of the bartender and other employees standing around. Came to LBI for the kite festival so we were out of town folks. Asked for a menu, we were told to use the QR code on the bar ...okay ..for real. My husband left is phone behind and mine was about to run out of juice. When I explained my situation about the phone.... that's when the attitude sky rocketed because he had to give me a paper menu which he never came back with. I guess we're not one of the Kool kids from the island.

They have an interesting selection of food and drinks. We had crab fried rice which contains fresh crab meat, salmon roe, microgeen, egg yolk which was very flavorful... however a way over seasoned. I wish they made it with 1/3 of the sauce/salt so I could enjoy the good ingredients they used. The same goes for their clam chowder. Besides that, the Shigoku West Coast oyster was very good!
