We've lived in Bayville since 2015 and tonight we tried the Trenton pie from Shady Rest for the first time. How did it take us nearly 9 years to find the best pizza in the area? The thin, crispy crust. The generous and flavorful sauce. Just the right amount of cheese. Hot and fresh, right from the oven. We will be ordering so often you'll think we are making up for lost time. Thank you, Shady Rest. Please don't change a thing.

Love this place the owner is a sweetheart and the outside bartender Angela is our favorite always a warm friendly place
I made a reservation. That was a terrible meal. I had ordered the starred signature dish Shady Rest Chicken . What I received was an old chicken cutlet cover in red sauce and sherry. It was absolutely terrible. I sent it back thinking maybe a mistake but it came back to me from the kitchen with the words “this is what it is “ shame on you chef. wow what hole in the wall. Never again.

Small family oriented place. Wait was a lil long, but its friday. ?♀️. After getting our table, in a quiet corner, my bestie and I had a great dinner. Food was delicious (portion was UGE!) drinks were great, and our server Genell was/is amazing. Not rushed and gave us ample attention.Definate come back!

Table 13 with JanineLadies and Gentlemen,This is still a service industry. We couldn't have been reminded of this more until we had dinner tonight. We love Shady Rest for the food(any chicken or fried scallops should always be considered) but for the most part, the dining experience has usually been random, at best. Tonight, we had the pleasure of being seated in Janine's section, and we've never had a finer experience at Shady Rest. Janine was The Best! Everything came out correctly and we never waited for a refill. We will be back soon on a Saturday night to sit in Janine's section.

Went here for dinner got calamari as a $17 appetizer and had to spit out a piece that was fishier than week old blue fish, hindsight it would be great for crab bait. Husband got a $16 cheese burger with a $1.50 up charge for CHEESE and $3 for bacon came out to over $20 for a thin mostly bread cheese burger. I got the dried cod (which somehow managed to cost less than a cheese burger still $19.99 though) breading was repulsive, must not have changed fryer oil for a week or maybe a month. After a $82 bill from all the up charges, we stood up to squeeze our way out and realized just how beyond uncomfortable those booths were. Service was awesome though, waitress was friendly and attentive.
