We waited an hour to get our food and we had to ask for water multiple times.

The coffee shop has long been a beloved fixture in Bernardsville, and it's a place we've always adored. However, our recent discovery of their limoncello cake has taken our affection to new heights. Presenting it to my particularly discerning child was a gamble that paid off—he was smitten! The cake's delightful lightness and exquisite flavor have him insisting on a daily visit. It's truly a standout dessert that's captured our hearts.

I was looking forward to seeing the expansion done to a favorite breakfast spot. It was so disappointing that we will never go back. The new booths are for 2 or 4 persons. The ones for two are so small, you'd have to eat with your coat and purse on your lap. If you put 4 in the 4 person booth, same story. So when 5 of us asked for a table, we were greeted with a perplexed look- where could we be seated?? The table in the window would work, we pointed out. But it wasn't cleaned- followed by more blank stares. How about you have it cleared? Finally it was cleared and we sat down. The sun was so strong the butter on the table had melted and the half and half had spoiled. We had no choice but to deal with it. And now for the deal-breaker- we were served our food a full 50 minutes after we sat down!!! Looking around the restaurant, we saw everyone looking at their watches or phones and the empty tables in front of them. They expanded the seating area but did not expand the kitchen so they cannot prep the food fast enough. Most of the food was good- the French fries were excellent. My short stack of pancakes was a bit perplexing- the two pancakes were literally close to an inch thick each, making them heavy rather than light and fluffy. I could barely finish one of them. The food was decent and would be a good reason to go back but waiting longer for your food than it takes to eat it is a reason to eat elsewhere. There are other spots in town with food just as good and quick service. One final note- as we were eating, a party of 6 came in and were asked if they had a reservation ( in a diner?!?). When they said no, they were asked if they wanted to sit together! Of course they wanted to sit together! But where could they be seated!!??! A good dining experience is about more than just the food. This place needs some major reorganization.

Really great care of customers and great food.Once had a food issue, which can happen anywhere. The thing that made the difference and secured our continued positive vibes was that the owner cared and addressed it immediately! Thank you. Shows you care about your customers and your business!

Terrible service. Placed very simple two person order, received drinks but no food. Then proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait. No explanation provided by server. Eventually had to get up and leave. Counter manager initially wanted to charge for drinks after wasting our time.

I enjoyed this place with my friend. Our servers were so attentive, helpful, and swift! We never ran out of coffee or water. Our food came timely.Good menu, not too overwhelming.I recommend if you like diner style eating.Parking: Was able to find parallel street parking not far from the place.

Food took an hour and was cold when it finally arrived. If you are looking for quick service and good food avoid this coffee shop. Seems the kitchen is undersized/understaffed. We won’t be back.

My order got messed up, they had me ordered something different. The entire wait time for my food was close to an hour. And the food was not spectacular, cold coffee, saggy homefries, and the place was not busy when we arrived. We really wanted to like this place and make it one of our regular spots.Myself, my wife and our 3 year old son enjoy going out for breakfast every Saturday, and we took a risk driving 25 minutes from our home.We feel like we wasted time and money.Only positive was the service. They apologized for the mistake and were attentive. But food, wait time and price was not worth it.

Been meaning to try this place for awhile. I just happened to pick a Sunday morning that they weren't serving espresso drinks. This is what i live for on the weekends so very disappointingA real mocha latte not from DD or SBI found it super ironic the Coffee Shop only had regular coffee.Despite it's name, it's not a coffee shop or cafe. Just a traditional jersey diner with good food but high prices. The pancakes were typical, nothing special. Bacon semi crispyTH egg and cheese was goodAnd of course the reg coffee i had to settle for was avg..Total, 26 bucksWe wont be going back

The food was a good value. Each hot dog platter was $7 and had a bag of chips and a macaroni salad cup with the hot dog. Good coffee and the 60s Era decor reminded me of series Mad Men.

The food was enjoyable but it took entirely too long to arrive. Probably 45 minutes to an hour for three simple orders and I really felt for the waitress who had to manage a room full of people waiting similar amounts of time. Hopefully it was just a one-time short staff situation but it’s going to be some time before I’ll think about returning.
