I've seen many good reviews for the Reservoir Tavern. This pertains to a take out order of two sandwiches costing about $32. One was the antipasto sandwich. The sandwich was supposedly on "pizza" bread. The bread was incredibly hard and over cooked, hard to cut even with a sharp knife, making it impossible to eat as a sandwich as all the ingredients would be forced out just holding it. There was a "pile" of anchovies in one large clump, not distributed throughout the "sandwich". There was a very small amount of provolone cheese, not worthy of being in a sandwich.Secondly, a cheese steak hero. The ingredients, meat, cheese and onions were absolutely swimming in grease/oil. Cheese stake sandwiches should not be dripping in oil. An over amount of sauteed onions, too little meat on a soaked roll, not on good Italian or French bread. The "twice cooked" potatoes could have been left off. Very bad quality.Sorry to have a negative review. I regret not taking pictures of the sandwiches for posting. I wouldn't recommend either sandwich.

Great food and strong drinks! Calamari was cooked well, and the garlic bread that came with it as an appetizer was cooked perfectly crispy. The pizza was dense and filling. I could see the rest of their food being great and would definitely go back. Overall, I give Reservoir Tavern a 4.5 out 5.

Went to pick up a pizza I had ordered online on a Friday afternoon. I arrived about 5 minutes before the pizza was promised. I stood by the host desk as I waited for the pizza to be ready and made eye contact with 3 ladies behind the bar. To my surprise, neither one of them acknowledged my arrival by greeting me or asking if I needed help. They didn’t know I was early for a pickup, I could have been there to request a table or meet someone.As I was leaving the restaurant, I noticed a credit card in the parking lot. I went back to give it to the older lady behind the bar. She just asked “what is that?”. When I explained I had just found it outside, she just grabbed it, looked at it and went on without saying a word.Extremely poor customer interactions.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant ever. They know us by name (which goes such a long way) and they truly make the effort to get our orders out to us as quickly as possible, even on the busiest of nights! They are EXTREMELY consistent and the food always tastes perfect!

Dropped by for pizza as it's hard to find anything worthy in Sussex County. Reservoir tavern never disappoints, the pizza is just outstanding. A must stop for any pizza lover....great service, great neighborhood bar

My sister received an extremely inappropriate message from one of the female bartenders that she felt uncomfortable about our disabled mother dining here (she’s lucky she didn’t contact me). I won’t name names but will be in contact with upper management so that they are made aware. She should feel ashamed of herself. I certainly am disgusted.

Love, love , love this place!!! Food is excellent. We've never had a bad meal there. Service is excellent. Smaller family owned restaurant that is packed on a Saturday lunch, it's that good. Not usually a terrible wait time in that case. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Great place. Did I say I loved it? ?
