We have done takeout several times at Azteca, have eaten there as well….the food is great….BUT…at least 3 times we have ordered takeout beef empanadas and have ended up with chicken empanadas. We’ve complained a couple of times…but super frustrating that we can’t get what we ordered! Last call after coming home and discovering wrong empanadas we were told maybe check your take out food before you leave…can you tell what’s in an empanada from looking at it? Wow…Very careless!

I’ve been eating at Azteca since they were located in Tom’s River. Every time the food exceeds my expectations. They have plenty of vegetarian options (the nachos are my favorite) and the food is fairly priced as well, and they give you large portions. Their desserts are delicious, also! Definitely one of my favorites!

Very good! Azteca is an unassuming little place. We were looking for a quick (but not fast food) dinner around 7 PM on a Friday night. It was empty! There is seating for dine-in service, and they offer takeout.We elected to dine in. The server was very courteous and professional. Dining area is clean and set up nicely. There is a small area fir people to wait while their pick up orders are being prepared.The food was really good. I enjoyed the shrimp in garlic sauce. My husband had the Oaxaca fajitas (chicken, steak and shrimp). I didn't have any, but it smelled delicious, and my husband really liked his food. He said it was well seasoned.The sides for both dishes included rice and a little shredded lettuce salad. I was able to substitute black beans for the refried beans (I just don't like them). The fajitas also came with sour cream and a little guacamole.In addition to our meals, we had a Coke and a Seltzer. The total was approx $48 before tip. Not bad at all. I'll definitely come back.

Our first time eating at Azteca was a great experience. The food was so tasty, plentiful and fresh! Perfectly seasoned food. The wait staff was very courteous. We had quesadillas and burritos but I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Azteca is tucked away on Chambers Bridge Road so give it a try. Totally delicious!
