I would expect that Tom's river has a food/restaurant inspection division- please close this one down- this place is awful - as soon as you walk thru door you face a fish tank with iridescent green water - interior is dirty- seats are sticky as is the table - food obviously from frozen - most mostly inedible- don't know how they stay open

My family has been coming here for many many years. The family who runs this restaurant is so sweet and attentive. We come every Christmas Day and then a couple times throughout the year (for the past 12 years or so). Every time we enter, they greet us with a hello, seat us at the same table each time, and they even remember our past orders--we practically don't even need to tell them what we want. This amazes me considering we only come a few times each year. The food is always delicious, and I love that they still serve vegetable dumplings here since I'm hard-pressed to find them anywhere else.

I just recently worked there for two days this week the ownership didn't have the decency to give me a set schedule as me being a retired veteran wanting to work and just keep myself occupied. Quite frankly I wouldn't take my friends or family there the place is very dirty in the back and I saw a couple things that would make you sick to your stomach and probably goes against federal and state regulations the ownership did not even have the decency to let me know especially around the holidays with my next day to work was so clearly I will not be returning there I wouldn't go there if I were you either the place is dirty straight up trash

Sticky tables ... gross looking heating vents. I will stop this review with that. Enough said.

Quite possibly the worst take out of any kind. I ate it because I paid for it and was hungry, but it was the most un-appetizing looking food I've ever seen and it tasted as I expected it would; bad

The whole place should be shut down by the Health department it was a moldy cyst pool the moment we walked in so we got hit by a strong smell of all the oil. This was my grandparents first time coming to this restaurant and we all expected this to be able to cram packed with people considering that it was the dim sum. Boy were really we wrong we walked in through the front entrance in the immediate thing I noticed was that there was an empty fish tank. The lady was nice and she immediately sadist down but the strangest thing was that there's nobody in there no it was it was the middle of the day me and my grandparents were just looking for an easy lunch that we could just sit down and enjoy. Then once we got seated she gave us a couple minutes to decide what we want she and gave us some tea for tea my grandparents said it tasted like it had been filtered through somebody's old sock. Then the lady asked us what did you wanna order first we ordered some drinks I got Gingerale and my grandmother got a Diet Coke. And then a couple minutes later I realize that there was a squash fly on the rim of my cup no I think that it might've just been a mistake maybe the flyer got trapped into the fridge maybe maybe not but anyway I didn't care about much I just put it down. Now I have read the reviews of this place and there have been multiple reports of old oil and boy were they write my grandparents bed into their eggrolls and immediately spit them out they said it tasted like year old oil and my grandmother will know what that taste like because she's actually a chef I'm not saying that she use old oil she just knows what oil smells like for the people who lived in toms River New Jersey at that time The restaurant was called Island Café. And then we didn't complain about the Cubs because I could've just been a simple mistake and my grandparents didn't complain about the eggrolls they just didn't want to eat them anymore because the owner was a struggling mom I'm sure and trying to pay for college off of this tiny little dim sum restaurant that had nobody in it so I feel bad for her but she shouldn't matter restaurant And then our food came I had gotten some super noodles sing for my grandparents and now as I said before I have read the reviews and it says that they a lot of the time forget food and make you pay for it I had ordered some lo mein noodles and some pork buns I did not get the pork buns and yet we still paid for it and then I started eating my lo mein noodles and after about a couple seconds of eating I noticed something black in my food no I just thought this just could be black sesame seeds because this is traditional Chinese food but then I looked a bit closer and guess what I saw I saw dead flies it was disgusting I am mediately spit all the food in my mouth out and then I checked to see if there's anymore and I saw about five dead flies in my food and then I told my grandmother and my grandmother was saying you're lying and then she came to check and then she was shocked she immediately asked for the check and we got out of there immediately I had a nearly almost threw up in the parking lot and I will never ever recommend this to anybody on earth. PS the lady who runs this place I feel bad for you that you have to pay for your kids to college tuition but try to find a different profession. But as I was saying the food my grandparents day was bland and on the menu we had actually ordered these chips like they were like he's fried some thing I don't know what they were but they were good they were kind of like the skin of eggrolls and they were good but here's the thing on the menu it said that the sauce for them was freshly made and now me because I'm big on Chinese food I will know when the sauce is freshly made or not I took one bite of that sauce and I knew that that was not fresh made I knew that that was packaged in mass produce and actually as I got up to stretch my legs I saw the woman taking the sauce packets and putting

Got lunch to go. Barbeque spare ribs average, old and dry. (Even after asking for fresh ribs). Garlic chicken combo, ok but too much oil and not much flavor.

Excellent Chinese food for take out or eating in the restaurant. Easy online ordering and plenty of gluten-free options. Love it! Highly recommended.

The worst food I ever have , decide to try this restaurant it’s the nastiest food , the dough for dumplings are so hard , not even a bush rat would want this food, I throw it in the trash where it supposed to be , wish I could throw the restaurant as well , delivery was on time , that’s the reason for the one star , wish I had read the reviews before purchase

Saturday night is the absolute worst-night to order from here- food is overly cook as in reheated and you can see the brown speckles from the fryer on my egg rolls. The "fresh" mustard is days old and tastes like vinegar. I'll be looking elsewhere. These days it is so expensive to enjoy a nice night of no cooking anymore. And now just to have a nasty taste in my mouth, throw it away, and move on to cooking dinner tonight. Wasted money ?
