witnessed the most disgusting attitude from staff and manager towards a very sweet & respectful customer over a misunderstanding about money. way to handle it ??

After years of buying donuts from there recently very disappointed. I do believe they have changed the recipe… The once, well, like Frie’s is no longer a cinnamon roll with delicious icing. It’s more like cornbread with a little bit of icing with no sugar. But with no disrespect intended, you’ll never be able to conquer the original…Sadly I’m done with CENTURY DONUTS ☹️?

I have worked at Century Bakery since my sophomore year of high school in 2021 to February 2024.My family and I have always purchased the most beautiful and delicious cakes from Century Bakery. My father would always bring home iced butterfly cookies when I was a little girl. (Thank you to Michelle for continuing to make unique cookies that made my childhood extra special)I’ve always had so much love for baking and decorating. During covid I did school online and spent my time at home baking. I was always shy while growing up and being isolated during covid didn’t help much. While working at Century Bakery I was able to express my creativity, learn more, develop hard work ethic, and interpersonal skills.I am now a Real Estate Agent and starting a career at 18 years old. Century Bakery has inspired me to own a cupcake business. I highly recommend Century Bakery to teenagers looking for a part time job after school. No job is perfect. Not everyone you work with is going to be your best buddy. Not every customer is going to be satisfied. There were hard days at work just like every job. From words of encouragement to needing an extra hand. All of Century Bakery crew was a great/supportive team to work with.Lastly, a big thank you to the people who had to put up with a moody teenager…Michelle:Cake Production Manager, Johnnie:Cake Decorator, Debby:Manager, and Tim: Head Baker. You’ve all shown me a lot in three years. I’ve seen hard and inspiring work. Anything I needed help with you were always there. You will always be appreciated?

Place has gone downhill since new management. I, along with several other family members, worked at century bakery so I’m familiar with how it was ran before. Century was cleaned every night and no icing in the glass display smeared everywhere but now it appears they never clean it and have no standards for their staff as they are rude and condescending. Against my better judgement I still ordered my usual cupcake cake that our family has purchased for years and they not only raised the price a lot along with everything else but now charge a setup fee for a one layer (so no tower) cupcake cakes. Icing them individually doesn’t include this charge but smearing it across them all requires a setup fee? Seems like another attempt to charge the customer more but they couldn’t include it in the price as they know it’s already too high. Cakes have icing smeared across them and no setup fee. When I asked when this became a thing they told me very condescendingly it’s been a thing. But beings I always buy these and generations of our family have gone there and worked there so I’m aware this is not true. I have heard nothing but bad things from the community that has supported them and this is the last straw for me. I understand change happens but why buy a place like that that was known for being old school, same recipes, always clean, always nice and didn’t charge fees to set cupcakes next to each other if you’re just going to ruin it? Things get smaller, customer service is lacking, place looks disgusting compared to before yet they want to raise their prices and add made up fees. I want to reiterate this is a traditional one layer cake I ordered not a tower because a two layer or tower one would obviously have a fee added and I would get that. Century is known for its basic ballon or flower cakes this is not cake boss type cakes. They also forgot to fulfill a wedding cake for someone on their wedding day while my family never worked there so I don’t know I could count on it even being ready. Last time I went there and noticed the lack of cleanliness was o get donuts but there were none. Imagine that a bakery with no donuts. I would have just told the owner this or explained but they didn’t seem to care why I cancelled my order and caught an attitude for simply asking what a fee was for.

Since this bakery is under new management, the customer service is poor and the manager does nothing about it. Also, the quality of the food is not fresh. You would be better off going to Terrigno Bakery. One time I saw mosquitos flying on the bake goods and when I said something … the rude counter young lady said what you want me to do about it. I have never been back since.

Have the buttercream fries and filled donuts shipped to Joplin, Mo. Best buttercream ever! Only complaint I have is that they ship USPS and it takes so long to receive that the icing is all melted off and the pastry a bit dry. But I highly recommend if you can get to NJ!

Their doughnuts are hands above anyone else in the area. You'll pay more than the two big chains, but it is worth every penny! The flavors are amazing and their consistency from visit to visit is always top notch. Everyone at work always gets very excited when I show up with a century dozen!

Got a birthday cake for my daughter from them and they were able to decorate one from the case in a matter of minutes and they did an excellent job, the cake was good too!

My family goes to Century for all of our birthday cakes! Nothing beats their icing. I always pick up through the drive thru and have never had any issues. The fact that they have a drive thru makes it so much more convenient. Everyone is always so friendly at the window too.

Their fried donuts are amazing! If you’re from the area I’d recommend getting one of their frequent friers cards and just getting one or two donuts each visit since they’re expensive. If you’re not from the area and can afford the high cost, order a dozen fried donuts with whatever icing you’d like. These are probably the best donuts I’ve had from anywhere.

Their Cakes are straight bussin for real. That buttercream is straight butter too, smacks!

I recently ordered a birthday cake for my daughter, and I was so pleased with it! It was fresh, beautiful with extra touches that made it really special to present to my family celebration! I ordered a vanilla cake with lemon filling, and that was very delicious, thick and generous. Would definitely recommend!

Not the same as they used to be. I've never thrown away donuts before now. They wanted $5 for small decorated cookies! That's just insane.

We used them for our wedding cake in March of 2022. The cake has different fillings in each tier and it was AMAZING. The taste testing was nice too and we could tell they really cared about our order and even used fresh local roses that matched my color scheme on the cake. 100% will use them for future big-life moments.
