Shipwreck is always excellent, but last night it was truly magical...the clam chowder was a knockout, the halibut was somehow even tastier than we remembered...everything we ordered was delectable and all servers were extra warm and caring...I feel sorry for restaurants in Central NJ attempting to compete - believe me we've tried MANY and most pale in comparison!

Wonderful meal, service was excellent and food was served in a timely manner. Very noisy for a small crowd of people. Not budget friendly for the amount of food on our plate, no extras except bread. Do not recommend for families with children.

Danielle was a great server and the bartenders here are fantastic. My husband had the filet mignon which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the tuna special and it was one of the best meals I've ever had here. We love this restaurant and highly recommend it for special occasions and if you're just looking to have a wonderful dinner in a nice atmosphere. Love Shipwreck!

Food definitely stands out among the slow service. They need to hire more servers. We sat down at 6pm and finally left around 8:20pm. Drinks from the bar were also spot on. Our table would have ordered more however, 2 drinks per person was all our server could handle. Management should correct the service help issue before Memorial Day.

We visited for restaurant week and expected restaurant to be busy. The noise is almost unbearable. Only two of us and we couldn't hear each other. Server was extremely busy and could not keep track of what we ordered ( wrong drinks, forgot items) another server jumped in to help and was more attentive. Lobster bisque was ok no lobster meat (I would not order again). Salmon was very good (not a big portion but fine for me) my husband had sirlion and was not impressed (I thought it was tender) but he said it was lacking flavor. Best part of dinner was desert (best I have had in a very long time) The tart was exceptional. My husband had the lemon cheesecake also very good.

Dinner at Shipwreck is always exceptional. Our servers Jason and Christie were great and the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week menu had some really nice choices. The only small ding was q very loud table next to us,, but that's not Shipwreck's fault. We love this place!

There are not enough restaurants like Shipwreck Grill in the southern Monmouth area. Beautiful dining room separated from the loud bar area and tvs and loud music. Table cloths, way above average food, a waiter who really cared, a feeling of not being rushed. This should be the standard not the rare exception. Thank you Shipwreck Grill. We will be back for sure.

In a time when dining out has become expensive and disappointing for us, this really delivered up to our expectations. Wonderful, friendly, attentive staff and our choices were all delicious. The clam chowder was really hearty, could be a meal on its own with a salad. The petit surf & turf was a generous portion and great value. The crab cocktail was amazing with huge jumbo, jumbo lump crabmeatWe finished off with decaf cappuccinos, too full to sample any of the homemade desserts. We very much enjoyed our our meal and will definitely be back!

Slow service Waitress was not attentive,‘no salt and pepper Water tasted weird, forgot to bring wine during dinner had to remind her when she finally came by, overall was not enjoyable Very loud....

The hosts were less than attentive in assisting us and other guests with getting seated and not at all friendly or engaging with us. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Our food was fresh and perfectly prepared in a very timely manner. The openness of the dining area is very attractive however the acoustics of the space is very loud. Sound dampening measures would greatly enhance the guest experience.

Had a fantastic dinner with friends. Our server was professional and attentive, food was amazing. Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We are never disappointed at Shipwreck Grill.

It was our first time at the ShipWreck Grill but won't be our last. The shrimp Scampi and Scallops Scampi were just delicious. Perfectly cooked. Great portions. However, the linguini with clams was a bit of a disappointment. No clams in the shell, and the broth was not very flavorful. The service was great and very attentive. Everything was brought to us in a timely manner and we were checked on just the right amount. The drinks and wine were very good. It's a bit noisy but in a very fun way. All in all just a real nice place with great service and for the most part delicious food.

Disappointed

Service was excellent but the food left something to be desired. We have been here quite a few times before but it seems lately that the food is not as good as it has been in the past

First time visiting the Shipwreck Grill and will be back. We arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar. We liked that it didn't have TVs so you could actually have a conversation. It has a real neighborhood feel and the dining area in the back is cozy but comfortable. The food was much better than anticipated. Tuna tartare and burrata / tomatoes for starters, halibut and linguine with clam sauce for entrees -- all were nicely prepared and presented. The service from all the staff was outstanding on a busy Saturday night. They were attentive, friendly and professional. We appreciated the tip about the bread (locally baked) and picked some up at Joe Leone's the next day. Only minor ding is that this was a special occasion and the staff didn't mention even though it was in the reservation. But that is a small thing given the overall positive experience.

Another excellent meal at Shipwreck Grill! We had tuna tartare (delicious), beet over creamy goat cheese and a generous crab cocktail. Branzino, lobster cake and veal chop for dinner - all excellent. Topped it off with profiteroles! Our waitress, Katie, was exceptional! Knowledgable and personable! The only downside is tge accoustics - very loud especially if you have an elderly person or someone hard of hearing in your party.
