I never take the time to review ,but I have been to every deli in NJ . How is it possible a pre made sandwich with no meat is $18 ??? the bread is cold and hard since it's sitting in a chilled cooler pre made ...and this is a bakery who's bread is good in the supermarket??? I should have known since it was empty at 12:15. also no prices on the board ! I also got a grilled chicken broccoli rabe and mutz . Again you don't see any chicken , and this is $18?? If it was good I would understand but it was not. Unbelievable!

We do the family meal deal several times a month, oh my goodness do you get your moneys worth! Such a plentiful amount of food and for a good price. You won't regret it. So my faves: rice balls app, penne vodka pasta, Caesar salad and main we have done almost all the options: top are the chicken francese, chicken Marsala and salmon. The wine is an additional $10 so don't sleep on that. And when you pick up get dessert and pretend you cooked the entire thing yourself. Win win

Extremely over rated. Apple pie had raisins in it.. that’s disgusting. Cannoli's are good

Went to potentially have my wedding cake made from Calandras, the staff doing the tastings were rude and kept bragging about how they cater to over 75 venue locations and kept downplaying anything I said for my cake and times I was available (believe the name was Ayesha?). Went with another bakery because of this for my wedding cake and don’t care about the desserts to ever go back. Very disappointing.

Whenever you think about a sweet treat, this place is everything you could ever dream about. They have so many delicious pastries. The only problem we have is picking what size box to put them all in. The mini cannolis did not make the ride home. Think I need a much larger box next visit !!! Best option, don't know what to get? Answer is to get 1 of each pastry ! Try them all, and then you decide...... get them ALL again!Parking: Tons of parking available. Great for events, parties and even daily quick cannoli trips!!Kid-friendliness: Calandra's is the absolute best place to bring all of the kiddos. They always have great events for every occasion. Very welcoming for kids of all different ages. 10/10 always look at their Facebook and Instagram to see all of the upcoming events.

Amazing restaurant and bakery. Take a time trip back to old Italy. All kinds of inside and outside seating arrangements.

NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!My wife and I came here with our 1 y/o to plan a cake for her 1st Birthday. I go to the Calandras in Newark and they recommended us to the flagship location. We had a decent idea of what we wanted and were very excited to see the possibilities. When we go to the bakery thou, the receptionist working the counter seeemed annoyed at our request and almost immediately quoted us $500 (we hadn’t discussed type of cake, filling, frosting etc. only that we were looking to serve 30-50) which immediately turned us off bc she didn’t have details and it really felt like she just thru that # out of thin air.We took a beat, went to the deli to talk and get breakfast. There were a few families behind us doing the same. We ordered an egg sandwich, omlette, coffee and sat down. After 45mins every family behind us had gotten their food and were leaving, we still hadn’t gotten coffee. The other families had pancakes, omlettes, French toast, Italian sandwiches but we couldn’t get anything and when they finally bought out the sandwich it was cold and the wrong order.Hungry and with an increasingly fussy toddler we left but not before telling the deli counter to cancel our food, which the cashier did and didn’t even look at me.On the way out I grabbed a manager to tell him of our experience and that I was never coming back here. They tried to throw us free pastries and say they’d do a PM cake for 1/2 off, but how was I going to trust them to do a cake but they couldn’t even do breakfast?

We had a wedding cake done here because they were recommended by our venue. We gave inspiration photographs and were very specific about colors, spending over an hour in the restaurant. What we got on our wedding day was a complete joke. The cake was the wrong color and that looked like something a kid did in a middle school home economics class. The best part is that they charged us a “specialty” up charge compared to what was included in our wedding package.I’m not sure how their other products are but if you’re going here for a wedding cake, look elsewhere.

We got our wedding cake from Calandra's. They were professional and made the process enjoyable from the cake tasting onwards. They made it easy to design our cake. The cake was also delicious- we got chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling, and vanilla cake with raspberry mousse filling. Multiple people told us it was the best chocolate cake they'd ever had!
